Ten Commandments Case Update
Only 15 days are left before oral arguments in McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky. An advocacy organization for the Orthodox Jewish community, the National Jewish Commission on Law and Public Affairs ("COPLA"), is one of many groups filing amicus briefs in support of our position. Their brief points out: "The Ten Commandments have come to be recognized as the foundation for legal and social structures in many secular governments and societies across the globe, including our own." You can read their brief and others on our web site.
Your prayers and support are vitally important to the outcome of this case. Please become a Defend the Ten Prayer Partner and continue to pray for:
1) health and strength for our entire staff;
2) wisdom in finalizing the Reply Brief to be filed next week.

Liberty Counsel Attorneys Make National Media Appearances
Last night on the MSNBC show, The Abrams Report, Mat Staver spoke in favor of covenant marriage legislation. A covenant marriage requires that a couple receive premarital counseling before getting married and before getting divorced. Transcripts will be available on MSNBC's web site sometime this evening.
Rena Lindevaldsen, Liberty Counsel Senior Litigation Counsel and the national coordinator for the Day of Purity, appeared on MSNBC's Scarborough Country last night to discuss the second annual Day of Purity. The Executive Director of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) was on the show, criticizing the Day of Purity and insisting that a message of sexual abstinence is reckless. Rena explained that fostering a culture of self-indulgence and lack of self control is irresponsible.
Rena also discussed the Day of Purity on Alan Colmes' live radio show late last night. The other guest was an erotic-party planner from New York City. The discussion revolved around the effectiveness of abstinence-only education versus so-called "safe sex" education. As a result of the lively debate, the show was swamped with calls.
