Miss California Speaks At Liberty University and Appears as Special Guest on Liberty Live
Miss California, Carrie Prejean will be in Lynchburg today to encourage thousands of Liberty University students to stand up for their faith, as she did recently at the Miss USA Pageant. Following her appearance at Liberty’s Convocation Service at 10:00 a.m., she will join Mat Staver and Matt Barber on Liberty Live from 4-5 p.m., where she will be taking questions from listeners during the program.
During the final round of the Miss USA Pageant a judge, homosexual activist blogger Perez Hilton, asked Prejean whether every state should legalize same-sex marriage. Prejean responded with her belief that "marriage should be between a man and a woman."
After the pageant, Hilton openly bashed Prejean for her answer through a video blog. Prejean's answer ultimately cost her the Miss USA title, leaving her first runner-up. It is incredible that a Pageant judge would show such open hostility and intolerance toward a contestant who honestly expresses their Christian beliefs. However, this controversy has given Prejean a new platform to share her faith with others.
