Anita L. Staver is the President of Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit litigation, education and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the traditional family.

Her practice before the United States Supreme Court and numerous federal courts has resulted in more than 30 published opinions. She is admitted to practice before every federal court of appeals in the nation, and seven federal district courts. Anita is a member of the bars of the State of Florida and the District of Columbia.

Anita has co-authored two scholarly law review articles, and had her columns published in WorldNetDaily and the Florida Baptist Witness. She has been a guest on a variety of talk shows, including Crosstalk, The Morning Show with Armstrong Williams, Faith2Action with Janet Folger, The Right Hour with Paul Weyrich & Bill Lind, Bud Hedinger Live, Culture Shock with Barry Lynn and Constitutional Public Radio. She has been interviewed on legal issues by other media including Newsweek, Cox Broadcasting and the Orlando Sentinel.

Anita was valedictorian of her class when she graduated summa cum laude from Barry University School of Law. Anita graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Psychology. She received a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. During law school, she studied at the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Her academic honors and memberships include: University of Kentucky Dean’s List; Ashland Oil Scholarship recipient; University of Kentucky Traveling Scholars Award; Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology; Jacobs and Goodman LSAT scholarship recipient; Barry Law Journal Editorial Board; Barry Law Journal Note and Comment Editor; and contracts law tutor.

Anita was named a Kentucky Colonel, the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She was also named Honorary Commissioner of Agriculture by the Governor of Kentucky. During college she was co-founder of Campus Right to Life and later became Vice President of Central Florida Right to Life. Anita is married to Mathew D. Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law.
