The House Democrats’ show trial of President Donald Trump trudged into week two, day two of dry testimony today. Many Americans are tuning out. Many are confused. Many wonder what this is all about.

And there’s a reason for that. The media fail to report the truth.

The sham impeachment of President Trump is a shameful breach of the American justice system. The unfair rules established by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff closely resemble Soviet-era secret hearings.

• In past impeachment proceedings, both parties were given leadership roles. But in this impeachment, Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff is both prosecutor and judge.

• In previous impeachments, both parties could issue subpoenas as they wished. But now Republicans must gain “permission” from “Shifty” Schiff to issue a subpoena.

• Worst of all, this impeachment bans President Trump’s lawyers from seeing all the evidence. Democrats choose what to present Trump’s lawyers and what to hide.

It’s a rigged game to reach the pre-determined conclusion that President Trump should be impeached on the eve of the 2020 election.

+ + President Trump didn’t break laws—he followed the law!

And this sham is all the more outrageous because President Trump did not violate any laws. He was acting entirely consistent with our laws!

Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff’s hand-picked “witnesses” are basing their testimony almost entirely on hearsay because they weren’t present in the room during President Trump’s phone call.

For example, when Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was asked to justify his statement that he “did not think” President Trump’s “demand” was “proper,” Fox News noted that Vindman spent about three minutes searching for the evidence before resorting to the shallow claim that the whole phone call was a “demand”!

Congress did actually receive testimony under oath from someone who was in the room during the Ukraine phone call at the heart of the impeachment: Tim Morrison, a top National Security Council (NSC) official. Morrison says the transcript that President Trump released of the phone call “accurately and completely reflects the substance of the call.”

Morrison also said in his testimony: “I want to be clear, I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed.”

+ + The treaty the liberal media will never tell you about...

I have read the call transcript, and President Trump’s words completely fall within the law. In fact, the President actually was fulfilling one of the highest laws in our land — a treaty!

In 1998, President Clinton signed a treaty with Ukraine to authorize that our nation seek "mutual assistance" from Ukraine on criminal matters. This treaty directs the two nations to share information from "testimony,” or provide “documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; [and] locating or identifying persons” in relation to criminal activity.

During his phone call, President Trump was doing exactly what this treaty authorizes our nation to do. When there are concerns about international corruption from companies paying a ridiculous amount of money to the families of politicians, those concerns should be investigated and prosecuted, if confirmed.

Our treaty directs that we should share this type of information — especially when a prior administration took actions to shut down an ongoing investigation into potential corruption. In this situation, President Trump is the only one with authority high enough to overturn then-Vice President Biden’s meddling in international policies to protect his son’s company.

But despite the facts, Pelosi and Schiff are rushing to impeach President Trump.

+ + What’s a stake and why we must fight back...

Here’s the bottom line:

If Democrats in the House win the day on impeachment, then President Trump’s entire pro-faith, pro-family, and pro-life agenda will be stopped in its tracks.

For example, our work in court defending Sandra Merritt and exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of baby body parts (while their hearts are still beating) has created new momentum for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

But if President Trump is impeached in the House, this and other pro-life bills have no hope.

Even worse, Democrats will be so emboldened by their impeachment victory that they will double down on the most radical elements of their agenda. I believe we will see a renewed Election Year push to pass the mis-named Equality Act or the host of bills that implement this radical LGBT agenda in a piecemeal manner.

That means the next few weeks are absolutely critical. We must expand our efforts both on Capitol Hill and across the nation to inform, equip and engage like-minded citizens in this debate.

But this end-of-year battle comes at a very difficult time when our budget has already been stretched by our battle on behalf of Sandra Merritt and our full docket of crucial litigation in courts across America.
