This year has been one of the most challenging in Liberty Counsel's history. Our case docket is loaded with key cases for the defense of life, freedom and the family.

Some cases—like our lawsuits challenging the LGBT lobby's harsh and iron-handed counseling bans—will almost certainly wind up at the U.S. Supreme Court. And make a huge impact on America's moral and cultural conflict.

Together, in 2019, we fought hard and achieved victories for religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the family. But some of our greatest challenges lie just ahead.

Yet I have hope, courage and confidence. I know that with God all things are possible! And that, working together with friends like you, we can make great progress in the battle to protect the unborn, defend freedom and push back against brutal LGBT assaults on the family.

+ + The SPLC's objective is to "completely destroy" its adversaries

One of the most serious challenges we face is fueled by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). This radical group—which the media treats like a trustworthy and politically neutral monitor of hate in America—falsely labels Liberty Counsel as a "hate group."

Even worse, the SPLC doubled down on a baseless lawsuit against Liberty Counsel, originally filed by a lesbian activist.

Always quick to invent "fake news," the SPLC alleges that Liberty Counsel was somehow responsible for our client's disappearance and international flight. This is false and there is no evidence to support this lie.

The SPLC is using this case to achieve its ultimate objective. Speaking on behalf of the SPLC, Mark Potok has openly stated that the SPLC's objective is to "completely destroy" its opposition.

The SPLC's broad-brush assault on our reputation also impacts every person who holds Judeo-Christian values regarding marriage, human sexuality, abortion, and authentic liberty. If we do not fight back against the SPLC and other radical groups who want to destroy us, we all could lose our liberties!

The SPLC continues to pressure its allies in the tech and media world to shut down any group it lists as a "hate group." These SPLC allies have shut down credit card processing pages, websites and social media platforms of pro-family groups.

I cannot stress how serious a threat this false and defamatory action by the SPLC is to Liberty Counsel and many other groups.

We must fight back against the SPLC and its allies with all our strength.
