Sacramento, CA–Gov. Jerry Brown signed California’s new law allowing youth who self-identify as the opposite sex to use the restrooms and locker rooms of their choice. This absurdity is another example of the assault against young children by the radical Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) agenda.

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, said: “Until there is a public outcry and people stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough,’ our children will be in jeopardy!”

• In 2006 Liberty Counsel reported that a teacher at Batavia High School in New York was a male one year and returned to school a female the next.

• Liberty Counsel reported in 2007 that Dr. Norman Spack, a pediatric endocrinologist at the Boston Children’s Hospital, was administering hormone-blocking drugs to children as young as seven years of age who self-identify as the opposite sex.

• Each year we have raised the red flags about the annual Day of Silence when the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network encourages public school students to refuse to speak during the school day as a sign they are standing in solidarity with the radical homosexual agenda.

• Last year, we reported that the Thurston County, Washington, prosecutor ignored indecent exposure incidents to young girls when a cross-dressing man exposed his genitals to women and under-age girls in the Evergreen State College women’s locker room.

• Earlier this year, we reported that a Colorado first grade boy won the right to use the girls’ restroom in the Fountain-Fort Carson School District.

• Just this week, the Maine Supreme Court heard arguments in a case where a 15-year-old identical twin boy, who identifies himself as a girl, is suing for access to the girls’ restrooms.

“Governor Jerry Brown’s decision to allow students the right to use dressing rooms, locker rooms, and restrooms based on their subjective self-perceived sex, regardless of their birth gender, is unconscionable and extremely dangerous to children,” said Staver. “Now, little girls in elementary and high school will be forced to shower and change in locker rooms with boys masquerading as a girl. When an incident happens–and no question, it will–Governor Brown will have the innocence of that abused girl on his hands,” Staver said. “This is not about intolerance or hatred or bigotry: it is about biology, which you cannot change, and common sense, which seems rare today. The girls in California have the right to use the restroom and locker room without fear and without the intrusion on their privacy,” said Staver.

“Liberty Counsel has already received telephone calls and emails about this law. We will defend the victims,” Staver pledged.
