A vote is expected soon on an amendment from Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) that would prevent taxpayer dollars from going to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. The vast majority of Americans object to funding abortion. Between 2002 and 2009, an estimated $967 million in taxpayer dollars went to abortion-providing organizations. 

Much of the taxpayer money that is given to abortion providers by the Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Agency for International Development is distributed through Title X funding, which is being eliminated, according to the current language of the Continuing Resolution in the House.

No one should be forced to fund abortion. Especially at a time when the federal government needs to reduce the deficit, eliminating abortion funding is a no-brainer. Government funding used to propagate genocide of innocent children is a dark chapter in American history. We must turn the page to a new chapter that restores the sanctity of human life.
