Combating Religious Discrimination and Ignorance

A regional seminar on Federal Enforcement of Laws Protecting Religious Freedom will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. The seminar series is part of the Department of Justice’s initiative to increase enforcement of laws protecting religious freedom, The First Freedom Project.

This may be one of the last seminars, so take this opportunity to learn about religious freedom.

This seminar is designed for religious, community, and civil rights leaders, government officials, attorneys, and others interested in religious liberty issues. Continuing Legal Education credit may be available.

Topics will include: 

Religious Discrimination in Public Schools, Colleges and Universities
Religious Discrimination and Public Employees 
The Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (RLUIPA) 
Religion-based Housing and Lending Discrimination 
Religious Discrimination in Access to Public Accommodations and Public Facilities 
Prosecuting Attacks on Houses of Worship and Persons Based on Religion
