Amazon Censors Books

Jul 31, 2019

Amazon abruptly removed several books that present a different perspective on same-sex attraction and gender than the one promoted by LGBT proponents. The company yielded to pressure from one activist in Britain who repeatedly complained about testimonies and books that presented an alternative to the LGBT narrative.

Amazon took down all the books written by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, Sr., a psychologist who assisted hundreds of clients with their goal to address unwanted same-sex attractions. Nicolosi was a founder and president of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality until his death in 2017.

The list of banned books by Amazon includes a variety of personal testimonies, counseling and psychological research, and addiction recovery resources such as:

“Shame and Attachment Loss: The Practical Work of Reparative Therapy” - by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi
“Restoring Sexual Identity: Hope for Women Who Struggle with Same-Sex Attraction” - by Anne Paul
“The Battle for Normality: A Guide for (Self-)Therapy for Homosexuality” - by Dr. Gerard J. M. Van Den Aardweg
“Healing Homosexuality: Case Stories of Reparative Therapy” - by Lucy Freeman and Dr. Joseph Nicolosi
“Coming Out Straight: Understanding Same-Sex Attraction” - by Richard Cohen
“Growth into Manhood: Resuming the Journey” - by Alan Medinger
“A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality” - by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi and Linda Nicolosi
“Reparative Therapy of Male Homosexuality: A New Clinical Approach” - by Dr. Joseph Nicolosi
“Straight Talk About Homosexuality: The Other Side of Tolerance” - by Richard Cohen
“Desires in Conflict: Hope for Men Who Struggle with Sexual Identity” - by Joe Dallas
“Achieving Heterosexuality: A Universal, Scientific and Faith-based Perspective” – by Marie Davidson
No Dress for Timmy - Shefflorn Ballantyne

On the other hand, Amazon sells books that promote same-sex attraction and gender confusion such as: “They Call Me Mix/Me Llaman Maestre” by Lourdes Rivas; “They She He Me: Free to Be!” by Maya Christina Gonzalez; and “The Gender Wheel: A Story about Bodies and Gender for Every Body Paperback” by Maya Christina Gonzalez. Amazon also sells “Drag Queen Prayer Candle Set” that features four drag queens with halos beneath a cross and books that facilitate suicide.
