Healthcare Vote Expected in Senate Tomorrow

Some of the nation’s largest multiracial, multiethnic, and multigenerational faith-based and policy organizations, representing more than 30 million people, went on record to voice opposition to any healthcare bill that funds abortion, violates conscience, rations care, or limits freedom. Speaking for the united position of these organizations, Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law said, “Congress has voted 30 times against amendments that would ban abortion funding. Every proposed bill funds abortion, including the so-called Baucus bill from the Senate Finance Committee. This is unacceptable. We will not support any bill that funds abortion.”

Contact your Senators today and tell them “Abortion is not healthcare.” Tell them to vote against any bill that does not expressly ban the funding of abortion. Call your Senators at 202-224-3121, or visit Liberty Counsel’s homepage at and click on “Write your Senator” to send an email or fax.

"Hate Crimes" Vote Expected this Week in Senate

A provision to increase punishment for so-called "hate crimes" based on "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" passed the House last week. The hate-crimes provision was attached to a $680 billion Defense Department authorization bill, because the provision could not have passed on its own. The bill must now pass the Senate and a vote could come this week.

You can also contact or visit your Senators about the upcoming vote to let them know that you are displeased that hate crimes is attached to the bill that provides funding for our American troops.
