In the last Liberty Alert, we asked you to contact city officials in Ft Collins, Colorado and urge them to allow traditional Christmas decorations on city property. A city-appointed "Holiday Display Task Force," which included a representative of the ACLU, had recommended that the city eliminate religious Christmas decorations and even ban red and green Christmas lights!
We are delighted to announce that the City Council met and rejected the task force's controversial proposal. The three-hour meeting ended with a 6-1 decision to continue the tradition of decorating the city with red and green lights, adorned wreaths and Christmas trees, and other décor associated with Christmas. We are grateful for all those who sent emails, made telephone calls and prayed about this meeting.
