Galatians 5:1 says, “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”
Since 1989, Liberty Counsel has had the privilege of protecting freedom on behalf of American citizens whose strong faith in God carries them through persecution for simply standing for truth.
Here is just a sample of the many requests for help we have received recently:  
  • School teachers in Minnesota who refuse to teach the district’s mandatory LGBTQ lessons, including false pronouns and the unscientific idea that one can chose from any number of made-up genders.
  • A Virginia school system that told high school students they could not discuss the Bible in school.
  • A Christian dance studio owner threatened with lawsuits because she will not allow a biological boy who identifies as a girl to dress like and join the girls-only dance troupe.
  • Parents in an Illinois school system that refused to allow them to opt their children out of LGBTQ and anti-Christian lessons.
  • An elderly woman in Florida who was informed by her senior living facility that she would be evicted if she continued to say “God bless you” to residents or staff.   
  • A Florida church was denied equal access to facilities because the city building department declared that “religious education is not real education.”
  • A North Carolina church whose city council tried to strip its tax exemption because the city claimed the church school, playground, and lawn were not being used for religious purposes.
  • A Veterans Administration employee who was denied religious accommodation so that he would not have to use a bathroom with women who identify as men.
  • In California, an LGBTQ teacher has been trying to get our client fired simply because she leads a school Bible club.  
  • In Washington, teachers were ordered to sign a contract affirming gender ideology and agreeing to lie to parents about a student’s gender “choice” or face termination of their job.  
  • In Virginia, a substitute teacher was refused work because of her "strong religious views."
As a result of our litigation, we have also recently seen some great VICTORIES:
  • As a result of our demand letter, an Iowa administrative law judge dismissed a frivolous petition from a pro-LGBTQ group that tried to revoke Calvary Chapel Iowa’s tax-exempt status because the pastor spoke out against a drag queen story hour in the local public library and personally supported a conservative candidate. This is the first legal decision rendered under Iowa’s newly enacted Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
  • We won a major lawsuit on behalf of Child Evangelism Fellowship and its Good News Clubs against the Hawaii State Department of Education and six school districts. Now the after-school Bible clubs must be given equal access as other similarly situated clubs on public school campuses throughout the state.
  • We reached a resolution in our lawsuit where three orchestra members had been terminated for refusing the COVID shots.
  • After we sent a demand letter to the City of Racine, now Tarry One Hour can peacefully share biblical messages in public areas outside abortion facilities, during LGBTQ events, and for other community assemblies in Wisconsin.
  • The U.S. Supreme Court adopted Liberty Counsel’s argument set forth in our amicus brief about J6 defendants that the Department of Justice misapplied the law.
  • We played a significant role in defeating the extreme pro-abortion Amendment 4 in Florida. This is a dramatic victory considering Planned Parenthood and other abortion proponents poured over 137 million dollars to pass Amendment 4.
