Today the UN Security Council passed a resolution betraying Israel by condemning the building of homes and businesses within its borders. Fourteen of the 15 nations approved it and the United States—refusing to veto it—abstained. Advisers denied accusations that Obama was working behind the scenes to support and push this measure, but the fact that the Obama administra­­­­tion abstained from voting speaks volumes. This resolution will embolden terrorists and encourage violence and bloodshed in the Middle East.

In the last 27 days of his term Obama dishonored America’s strong support of Israel, insulted Jews and Christians by his shameful act on Hanukkah and the eve of Christmas, and shook his fist at the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,This pitiful and toothless resolution of the U.N. Security Council will accomplish nothing but focus our resolve to clip the wings of this albatross that has long outlived its usefulness. America should defund this bureaucratic theater of the absurd.

On January 20 there will be a new president who will embody our resolve to stand with Israel. In 2017, we will work hard to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal and undivided capital of Israel. Make no mistake, our resolve is stronger than ever. Every nation that has come against Israel is no more; yet Israel survives and thrives. Like rebellious nations that have long since been forgotten, Obama’s parting legacy will soon be no more. We will stand with Israel and erase the memory of today’s betrayal.
