Mega-Celebrity Pushes "Equality Act"

Jun 12, 2019

Pop sensation Taylor Swift is all-in for the so-called "Equality Act." This dangerous measure, which has already passed the House, would impose the LGBT agenda on every American, even those with conscience-based religious objections to LGBT conduct.

But Swift either doesn't know or doesn't care. The singer/songwriter launched a nationwide petition drive pushing the "Equality Act" and penned a personal letter to Sen. Lamar Alexander asking him to flip his position and support the bill.

So far, some 47 senators, including one Republican, have signed on to support the bill. If Alexander and enough other Republicans join them, this dangerous legislation could get a Senate floor vote.

I don't want to think about the consequences of losing this battle. Please join us to fight this government-mandated LGBT agenda that will inflict great damage to the rights of every American! You can help by sending an immediate fax to the senators who will decide this bill's future —Mat.

The so-called Equality Act recently passed the U.S. House by a vote of 236-173. Now that it’s “Pride Month,” singer/songwriter Taylor Swift and others are pushing hard to get the bill passed in the Senate—which is where we must stop it.

This dangerous bill forces the LGBT agenda on all Americans including Christians. It has no conscience provision. Instead, churches under the bill will be forced to...

  • host same-sex ceremonies
  • give biological men access to women's bathrooms, showers, and nursing-mother rooms at any time, and to stay as long as they want
  • hire staff involved in LGBT conduct
  • allow cross-dressers to be greeters, ushers, Sunday school teachers and more

The intentionally misnamed “Equality Act” also gags professional counselors from helping anyone seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction, behavior and gender confusion.

Many of these vulnerable people are children who are struggling and need professional help in dealing with the root cause of their challenges.

"If counseling bans had been law in 1989, blocking me from the therapy I was asking for, I probably would have killed myself. I would not have been satisfied with a government-mandated gay identity," said Ken Williams, discussing his own journey out of unwanted same-sex attractions.

Ken struggled for years with homosexual desires but found help. Today, Ken is married with four children and is a pastor. But the deceptive "Equality Act" will block the path to freedom for people like Ken.

Before it's too late, stand with us to defend freedom for both counselors and for vulnerable people who want to seek the counsel of their choice. Both counselor and client should be free from government-mandated LGBT agendas.

Join me in sending a fax to our senators right now to protect these rights.

This bill literally sets the stage for banning the Bible, which offers the power to free those wanting to turn away from homosexual conduct. Let me explain how: A central theme of the Bible is that the power of God changes hearts and lives.

Because of Christ, people can become a NEW creation and become free from the bondage of sin and suffering. This is a profound message of hope. Yet it is also exactly what the "Equality Act" seeks to silence.

The "Equality Act" will punish counselors who honor a client's request to help them overcome unwanted attractions. Paul states in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, "some of you were" homosexual. But, it says, "you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

This verse shows God's love and His power. But if counselors were to discuss that truth with their clients, it would be grounds to revoke their licenses.

Help stop this growing censorship of the truth. You can send a quick, pre-written fax to fight the "Equality Act" right away.

We need an outpouring of opposition against the "Equality Act" (it was HR 5 in the House and now is S 788 in the Senate). I am committed to doing everything we can to ensure this dangerous bill does not become law.

We can win this fight, but we need your help. Please forward this message to neighbors, friends and family members who are allies in our fight for religious freedom.

The "Equality Act" is an LGBT wrecking ball to your freedom and mine. Liberty Counsel is completely committed to stopping this outrageous and deceitful bill. Can I count on you to help us stop it?

I will greatly appreciate any help you can give.
