Woman Says NATIVITY Scene Inflicts "Irreparable Harm"

Dec 7, 2019

The ACLU is representing a woman who is suing to eject a Nativity scene from an Indiana courthouse. You won’t believe why.

Your freedom to celebrate Christmas is under relentless assault from the ACLU and groups like the atheistic Freedom from Religion Foundation. But with your help, Liberty Counsel goes into courts nationwide to defend your constitutional freedom.

Will you help us keep fighting this Christmas and year round?

You can make a real difference today with your generous year-end gift of 15, 35, 100 or 250 dollars. Please give now to help us fight for Christmas and defend life, liberty and the family in courts nationwide!

It’s amazing how easily some people are offended and by what. Read below. –Mat

Liberty Counsel is fighting the ACLU in two Indiana counties where the radical legal group is suing to banish Christmas Nativity scenes from public display.

The ACLU is representing a woman who complained, in a court document, that she frequently drives past the Jackson County courthouse and is “forced to come into direct and unwelcome contact with the Nativity scene there.”

Can you just imagine how hard it must be for her?

The mere sight of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus—all from a distance—causes her “irreparable harm,” she claims. And that’s why the ACLU is demanding that a federal judge evict a Nativity display from the Jackson County courthouse lawn.

+  +  Putting "grinches" on the run

But thanks to you, Liberty Counsel is in court to defeat this frivolous claim—and send the "grinches" running.

The truth is that Jackson County’s Christmas holiday display does not violate the First Amendment. The Supreme Court and many federal courts have ruled such displays are constitutional, especially when the display includes other secular symbols of the holiday, and this Christmas display in Jackson County is no exception.

Plus, no one has a constitutional right not to be offended!

But to fight and WIN battles like this in federal courts across America, I need your help. Because of good friends like you, Liberty Counsel has compiled a strong record of success on such cases.

+  +  Fighting giants who attack life and liberty

Right now our caseload is heavier than at almost any time in Liberty Counsel’s history. We’re handling more than 100 cases and issues. And we’re going up against deep-pocketed giants like Planned Parenthood, the ACLU—with its $100 million endowment—and the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has nearly a half billion stashed away to make war on your constitutional rights.

But we have friends like you—and YOU make all the difference!

That’s why I’m asking you to be as generous as you can today in defense of Christmas and your God-given, constitutionally protected right to freedom of religion and all the other precious and hard-won liberties you and I enjoy as Americans.

Freedom isn’t free! It must be protected, preserved—and fought for in America’s courts. And that’s what you do when you give.

Again, we must raise $250,000 by December 31. And your gift now—of any amount—will take us closer to reaching that crucial goal.

Will you help by making a gift today?

Thank you for being a friend of freedom and for standing with Liberty Counsel in defense of Christmas—and the liberties we all hold dear!

With gratitude,

Mat Staver
