The world seems like a strange place today, with "social distancing" and grocery hoarding becoming commonplace in nations succumbing to panic.

I want to reassure you that Liberty Counsel, along with all our associated outreaches, will not shut down. We are standing on faith because our Lord has given us His peace. Nothing is impossible for Him!

Liberty Counsel's calling to defend every American's God-given liberties will not falter.

We have many critical cases we are currently defending. Some of our cases could go to the Supreme Court. Each case will continue to require many hours to prepare and defend. Our leadership, our attorneys and all our ministry support personnel are remaining hard at work defending freedom.

And that's why I am writing today. As panic over the coronavirus has spread, donations to Liberty Counsel have dropped off sharply.

Should this trend continue, we will not have the resources we need for the cases in active litigation right now. Cases in which we are:

• Defending Pro-Life Whistleblowers: Sandra Merritt faces 10 years in prison and over $2 million in fines for exposing the truth about Planned Parenthood's illegal trafficking in human body parts – sometimes butchering babies aliveto achieve the highest possible payments. Sandra is the first person in California history to be prosecuted for undercover journalism.  Sandra's case has been the most expensive case in Liberty Counsel's history.
  • If we lose, Planned Parenthood will have the ability to silence people who expose their crimes.

• Overturning Christian Counseling Bans:18 states and about 60 local governments have implemented bans on Bible-based Christian counseling for people seeking help fighting gender confusion. We represent counselors and clients and are fighting to keep the government OUT of Christian counseling. Ultimately, these cases are about protecting religious freedom as well as freedom of speech voluntarily conducted in the privacy of doctor's offices.
  • If we lose, people will lose their right to choose Bible-based Christian counseling for sexual orientation and gender identity issues.

• Stopping the Sidewalk Counselors Ban:Two Rivers Charter Public School, next to a Planned Parenthood abortion mill, is attempting to ban pro-lifers like our client Larry Cirignano from praying and holding signs on a public sidewalk in front of the abortion clinic. Like the Christian Counseling Ban cases, this case is about protecting the First Amendment right to free speech in the public square.
  • If we lose, pro-lifers could lose the right to peacefully assemble in public. Even worse, lives will be lost!

• Fighting a UPS Prayer Ban: A UPS manager attempted to ban employees from praying on their own time in the parking lot before work. Fortunately, UPS reversed the manager after we intervened, but the manager continues to bully employees. We have learned he has done this inside UPS for years. UPS needs to reign in this manager.
  • If we lose, employees could lose their right to pray, read their Bibles or even discuss their faith with co-workers on their own time.

Since Liberty Counsel's founding in 1989, we have defended many thousands of cases, with most settled out of court and many going to court, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

In today's virus pandemic, we continue to build and defend the bulwark of our liberties while we pray for God's help and blessing. Your partnership will help us continue. No pandemic will stop us.  But a lack of donations could.

In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to ensure the rule of law is upheld in America, so that every person retains their God-given and constitutionally protected rights.
