Big Brother's fight to track your every move just got more intense, and defiant Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear may soon implement a key part of any police state.

Last week, a powerful policy group known as the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy recommended Gov. Beshear adopt plans to "step up" mass surveillance of Kentuckians by implementing new contact tracing measures.

Remember, this state is governed by the man who put all attendees at our client, Maryville Baptist Church, under a 14-day quarantine (not unlike house arrest) for attending drive-in church on Easter – which resulted in some of the members being fired from work.

When Gov. Beshear's own Attorney General and the U.S. Attorney General warned him his actions were illegal, Beshear chose to continue his tyranny. Even when Liberty Counsel filed a successful lawsuit against the Governor's illegal actions, and the federal Court of Appeals ruled against him twice, Beshear responded by issuing a new set of illegal edicts against Kentucky churches.

We had to return to court again to stop this tyrant – and, thankfully, we were successful. Now powerful groups want Gov. Beshear to spy on Kentuckians through mass surveillance.

This Governor has continually ignored the Constitution...and now he is poised to further destroy liberty in Kentucky, again using COVID-19 as his excuse.

Gov. Andy Beshear's prior actions against Kentucky Christians, like our client Maryville Baptist Church, illustrate perfectly why we cannot allow ANY level of American government to institute mass surveillance. The Bible and history both show us the hearts of men can easily be swayed by evil and the desire for unlawful control. No governor, let alone this one, should be trusted with the mass surveillance of Americans!

Democrat governors around the nation are rushing to implement mass surveillance initiatives before the American public can raise a clamor and upset their plans. California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Alaska and more are already testing and launching versions of their own contact tracing, tracking and surveillance programs.

Many states, including those named above, are already hiring staff members to go door to door harassing people who choose to exercise their constitutional rights by refusing to comply with politicians' illegal orders.

The earliest immigrants to the United States came here to escape religious tyranny and edicts of powerful men who wanted to control churches and their subjects in order to satisfy personal ambitions and desire for power. Later, the nation from which the Pilgrims fled tried to subjugate them in the New World.

Our Founding Fathers experienced these kinds of abuse firsthand, and wisely instituted our Bill of Rights in order to protect us against such tyrannical rulers. The 4th Amendment to the Constitution was meant to protect Americans from any government or official that would spy on our activities so they could control the people more easily.

History shows that tyrants often attack religious liberty first, then move to suppress other liberties. We must stop these attacks against our unalienable, God-given rights NOW, before they progress to the point that liberty is lost in America.
