By now, it is abundantly clear that the constitutional rights of every American, especially Christian Americans, are under full-scale attack. Liberty Counsel is preparing for the next wave of assaults against religious liberty, which I will explain below. But first, I want to give you a quick update on our very substantial litigation docket...

In Kentucky – Liberty Counsel won an Emergency Injunction against Gov. Andy Beshear, preventing him from putting any more Christians under the equivalent of house arrest via 14-day mandatory quarantine orders for attending a church service -- even those where no one has tested positive for COVID-19.

In Virginia and Maine – VA Gov. Ralph Northam loosened some restrictions while continuing to restrict our church client, Lighthouse Fellowship Church, and Maine Gov. Janet Mills barely eased restrictions on churches after Liberty Counsel filed suit. Both governors continue to dictate how, when and where churches meet – a clear violation of the First Amendment.

In Illinois – Liberty Counsel stopped Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the Chicago Mayor, and the Public Health Commissioner from further enforcing Pritzker’s shut-down orders. Within hours of our filing of an Emergency Injunction request with the U.S. Supreme Court, Gov. Pritzker removed all church restrictions...for now. But the Summary Abatement threat against several churches still stands.

While we have seen gratifying progress in each of these states as a result of Liberty Counsel’s work, the lawsuits themselves continue. Here’s why...

1. Emergency Injunctions are temporary. They only restrict the offending action for the duration of the case against the offender...and our four federal lawsuits against rogue governors continue to make their way through the federal court system.
2. Criminal charges against some pastors have not been dropped. Some of the pastors Liberty Counsel represents continue to have criminal charges pending against them for the “crime” of opening their churches as their consciences led them.
3. Summary Abatements to seize and potentially destroy churches have NOT been rescinded. The City of Chicago has, as of this writing, still not rescinded its Summary Abatement threat against our client, Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church. Gov. Pritzker and Health Commissioner Allison Arwady may still choose to bulldoze our client's perfectly safe church for the sole purpose of preventing the church from meeting.

And now, many of the governors we are suing for attacking religious freedom are laying plans to make mandatory vaccinations a condition for churches to reopen!

Governors and health officials like IL Gov. Pritzker and Chicago Public Health Commissioner Arwady continue to beat the drum for mass vaccinations. While these mass vaccinations are being billed as “voluntary,” the comments by Pritzker and Arwady are being repeated by officials around the country – that public gatherings, including churches, will not be allowed until a “vaccine for all” is implemented.

Meanwhile, tech entrepreneur turned Big Pharma lobbyist Bill Gates continues to push for the same restrictive measures already implemented in China, India and even Israel. In a nutshell, Bill Gates’ recommendation is that unvaccinated people will be forbidden from travelling and even from attending “mass gatherings” like church meetings unless they have been vaccinated.

They forced our churches closed and now they want to force vaccines on us.

Liberty Counsel staff has been researching the COVID vaccines and we will report on our findings in future messages. In the meantime, what we are finding is deeply disturbing. All five of the top COVID vaccine frontrunners are using aborted baby cells and human DNA in their coronavirus vaccines. For many people of faith, the idea of putting anyone else’s DNA – let alone materials produced from the cells of aborted babies – is morally repugnant.
