Today marks the first full week of Liberty Counsel's new fiscal year. Looking ahead, it is becoming increasingly clear that over the next four months, the fight for freedom will be more challenging than ever. The most intense battle we've yet seen in the courts, in public policy and for the heart and soul of our country is just before us. We must NOT waver.

Our freedom, and the freedom of future generations, hangs in the balance.

SANDRA MERRITT and PLANNED PARENTHOOD
Sandra Merritt bravely went undercover to film and expose Planned Parenthood's hideous "Baby Body Parts for Sale" scheme. Planned Parenthood pushed back hard, pressing both civil and criminal lawsuits against our client. Sandra is the first person in California history to be charged with a crime for undercover journalism. Sandra's cases have been the most expensive cases in Liberty Counsel history...that's what happens when you go up against the pro-death giant. But we will not falter!

CHURCHES AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
Liberty Counsel continues to lead the country in defending churches and pastors from illegal church shutdowns, restrictions and criminal charges. Four of our cases are currently at the U.S. Courts of Appeals, and any one of them could reach the U.S. Supreme Court in the weeks ahead.

THE LGBT AGENDA AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

A. Change Counsel Cases - We have three cases at federal Courts of Appeal on this issue alone. Liberty Counsel's work in previous victorious cases has well prepared us to fight to protect individuals' ability to seek Bible-based, Christian counseling on unwanted same-sex attractions, behavior and gender confusion. One of these cases will likely go to the U.S. Supreme Court.

B. Southern Poverty Law Center - The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has publicly stated its mission is to destroy conservative, pro-life and pro-family organizations. Sadly, the SPLC has resources to do great damage.

The SPLC falsely included Liberty Counsel on its so-called "hate list," which it promotes to the public, the media, social media and tech companies and corporate entities. This has caused economic damage and requires us to implement security measures at home and the office.

The SPLC has also now become lead counsel for a lesbian in Vermont who inexplicably blames Liberty Counsel and other Christian organizations for the disappearance of her former-lesbian partner.

Other Cases

A. Religious Symbols: Defending the right to display Christmas Nativity scenes and fly Christian flags. This case is now at the federal Court of Appeals.

B. Christian Censorship: Defending the right to express Christian viewpoints during Boston Constitution Week.

C. Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Clubs: Liberty Counsel represents Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) nationwide. We have never lost a CEF case. The Good News Clubs are for children ages 5 – 12, bringing the Gospel of Jesus to elementary schools and reaching children who will never come to church.

In addition to all of the above, we have hundreds of cases at different levels besides what is listed, many of which we can resolve without litigation. And we continue to provide our ReOpenChurch.org resources to guide and advise churches on safely reopening during the COVID shutdowns.

We have an enormous amount of work to do this year in defending religious freedom. As I said above, over the next four months the fight for freedom will be more intense than ever. The battle in court, public policy and for the heart and soul of our country is before us, and we must NOT waver.

Our freedom, and the freedom of future generations, literally hangs in the balance.
