Monday night, the future of America seemed a bit brighter, thanks to Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court. And President Trump’s appointments to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals are changing the rampant judicial activism that used to infect our court system. A new Justice on the Supreme Court promises a significant boost to all our cases – but the fight remains intense and ongoing.

+  +  California is ground zero in the fight for religious freedom.

As you know, CA Gov. Gavin Newsom has imposed the worst church restrictions in the country. Right now, in California, worship is COMPLETELY BANNED in much of the state. In-home Bible studies and worship with anyone who does not live in the home are also banned. In fact, such activity is criminal – punishable by up to one year in prison and daily fines.

What is more, under Gov. Newsom’s orders and the so-called “Blueprint” he released, a church can provide numerous “social services,” such as feeding, sheltering, job training, substance-abuse counseling and more with an unlimited number of people.

But if the same people, in the same building, open a Bible, worship, or begin preaching the Word of God, they are suddenly in violation of Newsom’s orders and face fines PLUS one year in jail per occurrence!

Our client, Pastor Ché Ahn, the Harvest churches, and the parishioners face threats of prison simply for holding church.

Gov. Newsom's orders are oppressing millions of people.

The Pasadena Prosecutor threatened Pastor Ahn, the church and the parishioners with daily criminal charges for meeting to worship. Remember, for our client and many churches in CA, ALL WORSHIP is banned.

But there is potentially good news on the horizon.

Late last week, the Court of Appeals ordered the state to respond to our request to have all the judges on the court hear our case.

We requested the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for an emergency injunction against Gov. Newsom to block his unconstitutional orders.

In a 2-1 decision, the court chose to not grant an emergency injunction, but it will hear the full appeal in a few months. But we have asked all the judges to hear our case now.

Having all the judges hear the case is rare. Usually, such requests are denied. But late last week, the Court of Appeals ordered CA to respond. The Court is obviously taking a closer look. Please pray for our case!

Every day, pastors in parts of California face criminal threats and fines.

Monday, I presented oral argument at a Court of Appeals defending the right to seek counseling to resolve unwanted gender confusion. We have three separate cases on this issue at the Courts of Appeal. Any one of these cases could wind up at the Supreme Court. For many, this counseling is a matter of life and death.

Tuesday, I defended Andrew Wommack Ministries (AWMI) and Charis Bible College against CO Gov. Jared Polis’ unconstitutional church restrictions.

Wednesday, I presented oral argument at a Court of Appeals against discrimination of Christian speech. Boston denied Camp Constitution a permit to fly a flag in a forum open to all, because the word “Christian” appeared on the application. If “Christian” was not on the application, it would have been approved.

And we continue to defend Sandra Merritt, the brave whistleblower who exposed Planned Parenthood’s gruesome “Baby Parts for Sale” scheme.

There is an important thread that runs through all these cases...

The banning of the word “Christian,” prohibiting nativity scenes, denying biblical counseling, overt persecution of Christian journalists and criminalizing worship all seek the same end — the silencing of Christians and the outlawing of participation in the public square.
