As you know, Liberty Counsel has multiple federal cases defending pastors and churches from the unconstitutional shutdown mandates ordered by the anti-church governors of California, Kentucky, Illinois, Virginia, and Maine, to name a few. In our Colorado case, Gov. Polis wisely dropped their case against our client, Andrew Wommack Ministries, and removed the attendance restrictions.

What you may not know is that in addition to our many court cases, we are also providing legal advice and counsel to over 2,000 pastors in more than 44 states. Late last week, I participated in a strategy meeting with the legal team for yet another pastor being persecuted by the State of California and its misguided governor, Gavin Newsom.

Christians are being persecuted right here in America.

For over six months, it has been illegal for 99.9% of Californians to worship in church… and the state is taking enforcement seriously. Last Friday, yet another pastor was hauled before a court to face “contempt” for refusing to close his church. No pastor or person in America should be forced to choose between worship or prison.

The State of California may choose to hold this preacher in jail until he agrees to close his church!

This development should cause you to shudder. Throughout the ages, every tyrannical leader has assaulted the church and arrested its pastors. Rome, the USSR, China, Romania and more... they all arrested pastors and kept them in jail until they caved to the will of the atheistic state... or perished.

And here we are in America, land of the free and home of the brave -- a nation built on religious liberty and freedom of speech. But in 2021, you can be held in jail indefinitely for refusing to close your church!

And now Christians are being silenced in America...

The COVID shutdowns forced many churches to turn to online-only services. But now, Big Tech is deleting Christian voices from the internet.

The policy directors at Facebook, for instance, have decided a Christian ministry’s defense of biblical sexuality “goes against Facebook’s community standards,” because the ministry offers help to people voluntarily seeking Bible-based counseling over sexuality and personhood.

Facebook also regularly blocks or deletes content from pro-life advocates and organizations.

And Amazon, the largest bookseller in the world, is banning books that deal with unwanted same sex attraction. Thank goodness they have not yet banned the Bible!

We now have a situation in America in which a preacher may be forced into jail indefinitely until he agrees to close his church, while Bible-based Christian organizations and books are being banned.

If this progression continues, it is not too much of a leap to foresee a time when lawless tyrants will shut down pastors’ and churches’ access to the internet.
