This week I attended a meeting with Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was livid that Joe Biden has neutralized ICE. There is no border security. And ICE can no longer detain illegals inside our borders—including criminals, repeat DUI offenders and those ordered to be deported by the courts.

Hundreds of thousands of illegals have crossed the border under Biden. A large number of these illegals are criminals, a sentiment also shared by Mark Morgan, former acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who was also in the same meeting.

Combine the flow of illegals over the border with no voter ID and automatic registration of anyone 16 and up, and this bill spells the end of freedom.

Voter ID to identify LEGAL voters is basic to secure elections.

Yet, HR 1 (S 1) will prohibit states from using any form of voter ID.

S 1 will also...

• AUTOMATICALLY REGISTER any person 16 and above—including ILLEGAL ALIENS.

• Expand mail-in ballots by automatically mailing them to everyone, presuming ALL to be valid even if missing vital information and not requiring signatures.

• Prevent states from restricting double voting.

• Allow same-day registration and voting at any precinct.

• Threaten jail and fines to anyone who questions a voter.

• Provide 6-to-1 federal matching campaign funds.

Even Mexico requires voter cards that include city, state, height, weight, age, birthdate, gender, a QR code, two bar codes, signature match and even a fingerprint to vote. This ID even includes a digital designation of the voter's birthplace. Election fraud is punishable by five years in prison.

If Mexico and Afghanistan can manage, so can we!

We must stop HR 1 (S 1) from passing. Forty-nine senators have co-sponsored this bill. Just one more senator is needed to pass the bill through the reconciliation or budget process. We must keep up the pressure against this horrible bill. All future federal elections, and the Republic, are on the line. Send your fax and petition to key senators to stop HR 1 (S 1).

A 6-to-1 matching fund allows a single senator to collect up to 1.8 billion dollars over six years from the federal government.

If this bill passes, we will lose our freedom. We can win. The Democrats cannot overcome the 60-vote filibuster. They are trying to sneak it through on a majority vote with the budget reconciliation. We have senators ready to object. We must be vigilant. This is a ticking bomb. We must defuse it—FOREVER!

Voting is our sacred right, yet Democrats treat it as less important than picking up a library book, boarding an airplane, entering a theme park or picking up a package from the Post Office.

Elections are important. That's how Amy Coney Barrett ascended to the Supreme Court, and because she's there, churches are winning. Speaking of the church cases ...

CHURCH FREEDOM CASE UPDATE:

Friday morning, Liberty Counsel filed the sixth church freedom case before the U.S. Supreme Court since May 2020.

Every day since March 2020, Calvary Chapel Bangor and its Christian Residential Discipleship (CRD) program gatherings for worship have been illegal.

Pastors, staff, churchgoers and program participants face massive fines and jail time every time they meet for worship. CRD participants, some of whom are on probation for their addiction, risk probation violations and potential prison time for their participation in an "illegal activity."

These fines and jail times do not apply if the meeting is nonreligious. But they do apply when Calvary Chapel and the CRD residents meet for Bible studies or worship. But neither Pastor Ken Graves nor any member of the congregation and CRD program are willing to let that happen!

Three times now, Maine Gov. Janet Mills has attempted to kick the can down the road by requesting 30-day extensions at the Supreme Court to our petition for writ certiorari. Her latest delay tactic would have pushed the Court's consideration off until the next session in late September.

But Liberty Counsel WILL NOT allow Gov. Mills to continue to restrict Maine churches indefinitely. Friday morning, we filed an emergency injunction pending the petition at the Supreme Court to stop the most severe restrictions in the country imposed by Maine Gov. Janet Mills.
