The use of COVID apps that include vaccination status is deeply concerning. While some promote the apps as a convenient way to present “proof of vaccination,” the fact that you must show such proof is disturbing. These digital Vaccine Passports are being used to restrict freedom and control people. Remember the song “Private Eyes”? “They’re watching you.”

The Chinese government had already planned to launch its “social credit score” app in 2020. In China, if you have a poor credit score or have spoken against the Chinese Communist Party, the social credit app notifies everyone you are near of those private details. It is a way of publicly shaming dissidents … and became quite useful in controlling Chinese vaccine resisters. COVID and the government’s restrictions were added to this app.

Now that we are over two years into the pandemic, China’s policies have taken a sinister turn. Chinese dissident journalist Jennifer Zeng has been releasing videos of the latest lockdowns in Shanghai and other cities.

In Jilin City, a northeast China metro area with 3.5 million residents, one video shows police using loudspeakers to publicly shame a “COVID dissenter” at an intersection banked by four large apartment buildings. Police cars block the intersection with lights flashing as police officers in hazmat suits set up the loudspeakers.

“Building 23, in unit 2006,” a voice boomed off the buildings. “We are from the Jilin Public Security Bureau; we are police from Jiangnana police station.”

The police announced to the neighborhood that the person they were targeting had made “inappropriate comments” about the government’s “epidemic prevention work.” Because the person was “suspected of insulting peoples’ safety” and made “multiple other violations” of the COVID protocols, he was publicly ordered to “correct the speeches” on social media and the internet.

The listeners were also informed they all “must answer the phone,” ensuring each person is near a phone and thus able to be tracked. Additionally, people must always “wear protective clothing.”

On April 5, Zeng posted a video showing residents of Shanghai locked into their apartments due to the latest in a series of never-ending shutdown measures. They responded by singing songs of freedom from their balconies.

The Chinese “People’s Liberation Army” (PLA) then sent drones broadcasting the message that residents should “control your soul's desire for freedom.” In other words, forget those freedoms, because they are never coming back while COVID is being used as an excuse for government tyranny.

COVID tyrannies aren’t happening only in China …

In only two years, what was purportedly introduced to “stop the spread” of COVID is now being used to track every move and conversation. And although the events described above took place in communist China, we cannot assume this could never happen in a “free” country like America.

A friend of mine who is not a Canadian citizen cannot accompany his wife and children into Canada for her brother’s wedding because he is “unvaccinated.” His wife and children, who are both Canadian and U.S. citizens, can enter but have to quarantine for 14 days!

In parts of Australia, people who haven’t tested positive for COVID are being held against their will in COVID camps surrounded by barbed wire.

The abuse of Australians’ human rights began when an app on their phones notified police that they might have been near a person who had tested positive for COVID, with or without symptoms.

Here in the United States, consider New York City’s COVID policies over the past two years. What started with forcing everyone into their homes for “two weeks to stop the spread” evolved into a situation in which the NYC mayor personally brought police to break up an Orthodox Jewish funeral. Meanwhile, streets in “the city that never sleeps” stayed empty.

To work at an “in person” job in New York City, you must be vaccinated and carry your proof of vaccination, or you are not allowed to work!

Stop the spread of vaccine tyranny . . .

Over the past two-plus years, COVID has been used to rob people around the world of their personal liberties. In March 2020, we began our legal confrontation with COVID-related tyranny by defending the first pastor arrested for opening his church. Then we defended a KY pastor who held an Easter Sunday parking lot service where the people remained in their cars.

As the year wore on, we defended more than 2,000 pastors and churches. That work to free the churches led to fighting vaccine mandates. As far back as March/April 2020, we warned about COVID being used to push Vaccine Passports. Now 25 states and the District of Columbia have or are considering digital Vaccine Passports. We must stop the spread of Vaccine Passports.
