What's Behind the Health Care Crisis

Aug 18, 2022

Hospitals across America fired thousands of highly trained medical professionals who requested religious exemptions to the abortion-linked COVID shots. Now a new report shows that hospitals are “critically understaffed.”

COVID mandates have decimated America’s economy, our rights and even our health care system. But Liberty Counsel is fighting for liberty and winning! That’s why our class action settlement of more than 10.3 million dollars is so significant. Finally, the media is paying attention with considerable coverage this week. There is much to share, so read on. — Mat

A new report by Beckers Hospital Review shows that nearly 20% of U.S. hospitals are “critically understaffed.” Almost every state in the nation is experiencing shortages. Vermont hospitals are missing 52% of their health care workforce. California’s hospitals are missing 35% of their employees.

Patients are stacked up in emergency room hallways, according to many of the doctors, patients and even some of our own employees who have experienced shortages in medical care.

Dr. Stewart Tankersley, a dear friend of Liberty Counsel and a trusted medical professional, says that entire wings of some Alabama hospitals are empty and dark.

Another doctor friend took her father to the emergency room after he took the shot under pressure from the Veterans Administration (VA) that threatened he would lose his medical care without the jab.

He developed a rapidly progressing bone cancer at the site of the injection that was so bad his arm broke when he merely picked up a glass of water.

My doctor friend rushed her dad to the ER where they were told it may be up to five days before a room was open—not because the hospital was overrun with patients, but because entire wings and floors were vacant due to the terminations of health care workers who refused the jab.

We need your help to end this madness and restore justice for the American people.

One of our staff members in Virginia nearly suffered a cardiac event while recovering from hip surgery at a Virginia teaching hospital. When her blood pressure cratered to near heart-stopping levels, there were no nurses around to hear the alarm.

Thankfully, a family member ran to find one of the few nurses on duty and was able to save her mom. This well-known hospital is understaffed by 30%! Many staff members were new and inexperienced.

Another Liberty Counsel employee in Florida reports that yesterday the entire testing wing of the children’s hospital near her was empty and closed due to staff shortages. This hospital has the only neonatal intensive care unit within a six-hour drive. Yet they do not have sufficient staff to meet the demand.

But why?

When the COVID craziness first began, health care workers across the country were ordered to take the jabs. Any who refused would be fired—even if that person had a religious objection to the shots.

Shockingly, even already short-staffed hospitals began to fire all unvaccinated employees.

NorthShore University HealthSystem of Illinois was one of those health care employers that denied more than 500 religious accommodation requests.

Employees who refused to compromise or abandon their faith faced harassment and abuse at the hands of hospital administrators and managers who tried to force these employees to deny their faith and take the shots. Those who refused were unlawfully FIRED.

Liberty Counsel negotiated the more than 10.3-million-dollar payout for more than 500 employees who faced religious discrimination because of their objections to the COVID shots. In addition to monetary payment, these former NorthShore health care workers will be eligible to be rehired at their former seniority levels.

Just as important as the recompense for fired staff members, NorthShore will also change its unlawful “no religious accommodations” policy to make it consistent with the law and to provide religious accommodations in every position across its numerous facilities.

And no position in any NorthShore facility will be considered off limits to unvaccinated employees with approved religious exemptions.

This forced shot settlement is the first in the nation and will serve as a major wake-up call to every company that unlawfully denied its employees’ religious freedom RIGHT to reject the COVID jabs.

This case will break the dam of religious discrimination that so much of America has been forced to endure under abusive COVID mandates. It will also force health care companies like NorthShore to rehire the faithful religious adherents they fired. This measure alone will go a long way toward easing the current health care employee shortage.

Liberty Counsel’s first-in-the-nation settlement sets a precedent that employers across the country cannot ignore—employees have the legal RIGHT to religious freedom, and that includes the right to reject experimental, largely untested COVID drugs.

We continue fighting for those fired over the jabs, and those whose God-given and protected freedom has been denied. Unfortunately, America’s precious religious liberty is not yet safe. Even Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito recently warned that religious freedom is under attack. He’s right!

Will you help us continue to fight for religious freedom? Please, prayerfully consider making a recurring monthly donation so we can continue to fight. A generous Challenge Grant will DOUBLE THE IMPACT of every donation made today. Please help us keep religious freedom FREE!
