BREAKING: Three Major Developments

Oct 4, 2022

We are getting involved in the state fights over abortion, just as we promised. This week we will be filing three amicus briefs in defense of pro-life laws at the Supreme Courts of Kentucky, Oklahoma and South Carolina. And this is just the beginning. Our briefs expose the racist and eugenic history of abortion.

Meanwhile, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Kamala Harris, who says she cannot wait to break the filibuster for abortion, continue to plot ways to ram abortion down every American’s throat.

Today, you will get a sneak peek at our filings and a better understanding of the blatant racism behind the abortion movement, and why our legal work along with YOUR voice in Congress are so important. — Mat

The Supreme Court referenced our powerful amicus brief in the now-famous Dobbs ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade. But now that we have won this historic battle, the work is just beginning. The pro-death abortion lobby is fighting tooth and nail to keep killing the unborn.

While the world celebrated the landmark abortion ruling, and despite the fact that our offices were specifically targeted by abortion terrorists, we doubled down on our work.

This week, Liberty Counsel will file briefs in Oklahoma, Kentucky and South Carolina on behalf of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and The Frederick Douglass Foundation. We will also be filing in other states.

Our briefs expose the racist and eugenic foundations of abortion.

Pioneered in the 1880s by Francis Galton, a British scientist and cousin of Charles Darwin, “eugenics” is “the science of improving stock ... to give to the more suitable races or strains of blood a better chance of prevailing speedily over the less suitable than they otherwise would have.”

Put simply, the sinister goal of the eugenics movement was to eliminate “unfit” and “undesirable” people—those with mental and physical disabilities as well as certain races and ethnicities.

Darwin referred to eugenics in the title of his 1859 book, The Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life (emphasis added). And, in his 1871 book, The Descent of Man, Darwin more fully revealed his racist and white supremacist thinking.

Darwin described Australians, Mongolians, Africans, Indians, South Americans, Polynesians and Eskimos as “savage.” It becomes clear that he considers every population that is not white and European to be savage.

Darwin, like Adolf Hitler, preferred Northern Europeans. Darwin explains that the “highest races and the lowest savages” differ in “moral disposition … and in intellect.” He said that extermination of certain non-white races is necessary to “evolve” a superior race.

Guess who also subscribed to Darwin’s twisted ideology?

One of the most outspoken members of the eugenics movement, Margaret Sanger, founded Planned Parenthood to be the operational arm of eugenicsto cull the “weeds” of human society before their children could draw their first breath.

Sanger said eugenics was “the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems.” She praised sterilization as the “remedy” to the problem of “an increasing rate of morons.”

Sanger wanted to eliminate “the unfit,” i.e., minorities, immigrants, poor people and the “infirmed.” In promoting her deadly eugenic ideals, she advanced a “Negro Project,” and became a favored speaker for the Ku Klux Klan.

In her book Highlights on the History of Birth Control, Sanger advocated eugenic breeding for the “gradual suppression, elimination, and eventual extinction, of defective stocks – those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization” (emphasis added).

Sanger began with sterilization, then added contraception and finally abortion to her eugenic toolbox. All shared the same goal—eliminating the “unfit” to evolve a white, northern European super race. Obviously, Adolph Hitler shared this vision!

Abortion was founded on racism. That trend continues today.

Modern abortion proponents also carry the same racist viewpoint. In July 2009, late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told the New York Times that “[A]t the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

A study based on 2010 census data shows that nearly eight out of 10 Planned Parenthood abortion clinics are within walking distance of predominantly black or Hispanic neighborhoods.

According to one peer-reviewed study, “black women have been experiencing abortions at a rate nearly four times that of white women for more than 30 years.”

According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control, black women accounted for 33.6% of all reported abortions in 2018, even though they make up 13% of women in the United States.

And in Mississippi, which brought Dobbs to the Supreme Court, 72% of abortions were performed on black women in 2018 compared to 24% on white women and 4% on women of other races.

Tell Congress No New Roe!

Liberty Counsel WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING FOR THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE until every child is safe from abortion on demand!

It took 50 years to overturn Roe at the Supreme Court. It will likely take several more years to fight the state-by-state challenges already underway.

Liberty Counsel was 4-0 at the Supreme Court last term on cases we either submitted briefs for or argued before the Court. We intend to continue that winning record as we defend the unborn, but we need YOUR help.
