Florida is undergoing the largest disaster operation since 9/11. Flood waters continue to rise, keeping some people trapped in houses smashed by the 155-mile-per-hour Category 4 winds.

But many of the more than 5,000 military members deployed to rescue Florida’s hurricane-battered citizens have less than three weeks to continue serving before Joe Biden FIRES them for refusing to relinquish their rightful and lawful religious freedom rights.

One week after Hurricane Ian hit, some bridges remain out, many roads are decimated, and hundreds of thousands are without electricity, food or even clean drinking water. Months of work lay ahead for military service members assigned to disaster response. But how many will there be left to clean up after Biden finishes firing Christians and any other committed religious adherents who object to the COVID shot mandate?

As Hurricane Ian barreled toward the west coast of Florida, thousands of military members from across the region mobilized. Thank God they did, because what began as a Category 1 exploded into a devastating Category 4 hurricane with wind speeds just two miles an hour less than a Category 5.

A Cat 4 storm is terrifying, especially if it comes with a storm surge. Ian had a historic surge. Search and rescue crews have been looking for survivors. Disaster recovery teams clear roads, provide shelter and assist with getting the essentials of life—water, food and power. The days are long.

In the week since Ian, emergency workers have supplied more than 1.1 million hot meals to desperate people. Last Wednesday alone, over 176,000 people lined up for a meal. Just this morning, on our daily office prayer call, a staff member asked for prayer for family members still stranded in a flooded house near the Central Florida town of Geneva.

Liberty Counsel is supporting the rescue and relief efforts. And, we have been fighting hard for our service members. I have frequently said the shot mandates are weakening the military. This fact is clear when we need the Coast Guard and other service members to help desperate people.

There is no estimate yet for the number of houses demolished or number of people displaced, but I can assure you it is massive. As I said, this is the largest disaster recovery operation since 9/11. Florida simply cannot afford to lose even one military member to Biden’s COVID mandate.

Last week, Joe Biden publicly thanked Zach Loesch, a Coast Guard rescue diver who spent his hurricane duty jumping out of helicopters to save stranded Floridians. It will take months, if not years, before the disaster recovery job in Florida is done.

But Joe Biden is firing Zach and thousands of other military members like him because as a committed Christian, he refuses to take a shot linked to abortion. Zach will be fired in just three weeks, October 30, 2022, simply because he requested, and was unlawfully denied, his rightful religious accommodation to the COVID shots.

Members of the U.S. military have the legal RIGHT to refuse the COVID shots without penalty as codified by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) of 1993. But instead of obeying the law, Biden is firing these brave men and women who put their lives on the line for us.

Pray for Liberty Counsel as we return to court to request classwide protection for members of the Coast Guard. There are classwide preliminary injunctions protecting the Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Marines. We are still working on the Coast Guard and Army.

At the very least, Biden ought to suspend the COVID shot mandates to ensure Floridians get the disaster assistance they desperately need. But Biden refuses, and many of the people actively saving lives in Florida will be fired in just three weeks.

Biden’s unlawful shot mandates are decimating the U.S. military. In the Coast Guard alone, there are 2,362 religious adherents who refuse to take Joe’s jab and will be fired October 30, unless Liberty Counsel secures a classwide injunction against the Biden administration.

So far, class certification and injunctions have been won, protecting religious exemption requesters in the Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Marines. One would think this level of court protection would stop the Biden administration’s lawlessness, but sadly, such is not the case.

The Army, whose Corps of Engineers is actively working to stop flood waters and erect emergency bridges, as well as the Coast Guard, whose rescue teams continue to save lives, remain unprotected. We expect to secure class certification and preliminary injunctions protecting both the Army and Coast Guard soon. I will update you as I can.
