Nancy Pelosi is leading Congress down a trail that will BAN Christian counseling for children and adults struggling with gender confusion and unwanted same-sex attractions. Liberty Counsel has litigated on this issue and won. But the extremely powerful LGBTQ lobby and the misnamed Human Rights Campaign (HRC) want to silence all dissent and force children into dangerous and life-altering body mutilation.

Born mute and with high-functioning autism, Sandra “always felt different from other kids.” It did not help that her mother was mentally ill, and there was no father figure to help raise this special-needs child.

At an early age, Sandra found herself drawn to toys and clothes meant for boys. She watched a lot of professional wrestling, loving the feeling of escapism it provided her lonely life.

But the women featured on the shows Sandra watched were not strong or brave like the men. Instead, the women were featured as mere sexual objects. “I recognized this as a little girl,” says Sandra, “and that's when my dysphoria began to develop.”

Sandra began to model herself after the strong men she saw on television. At age 14, Sandra’s mentally ill mother took her to a so-called gender clinic. “By the 2nd appointment, I had been prescribed Depo Provera to stop my periods,” says Sandra. She was given testosterone the following year.

By the time she was 19, Sandra realized she may want to have children someday. But the testosterone she had taken for years might make such a possibility difficult. “This,” says Sandra, “along with realizing that transition would never make me male, caused me to regret making huge permanent decisions at a young age.”

Now in her early 20s, after years of taking testosterone, Sandra feels “trapped.” The damage to her body has already been done. She has found comfort in online groups for “detransitioners” — people who have stopped taking cross-sex hormones and are going back into the bodies and identities that God gave them. However, Sandra’s friends and social system only know her as a man. “I don’t know what to do,” Sandra says.

The “Transgender Bill of Rights” will ban licensed counselors from providing lifesaving counsel to people like Sandra.

Sadly, Sandra’s story is becoming all too common.

People with autism are more likely to suffer from gender confusion than others, according to the largest scientific survey conducted on the subject.

Of the 641,860 subjects studied, up to 26% of those with gender confusion also have autism. One hallmark of autistic disorders is the inability to connect and relate with people.

Not incidentally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that autism rates are rising rapidly in America. In 2004, 1 in 166 children had autism. By 2020, that number had skyrocketed to 1 in 54 children with autism spectrum disorder.

But instead of properly treating body dysphoria as a mental health issue, the LGBTQ lobby wants to force everyone to participate in the patients’ mental illness.

Chloe Cole also preferred boy toys and clothes as a child. Her parents arranged for her to have a double mastectomy at age 15. Now 18, Chloe is an outspoken activist fighting the twisted trend that is warping children’s minds and mutilating their bodies before their brains are even fully formed.

Chloe recently testified before the Florida State Board of Medicine, encouraging them to ban mutilating transgender surgery and hormones for children. Since testifying, Chloe’s email and social media inboxes have been flooded with hate mail and death threats from the very LGBTQ folks who once encouraged Chloe to “live her truth.” Apparently, in the LGBTQ world, only one “truth” is allowed.

Nancy Pelosi and the radicals in Congress agree with those trying to silence kids like Sandra and Chloe, who were abused and permanently harmed by the LGBTQ lobby’s sick encouragement of body mutilation.

H.Res. 1209 seeks to BAN Christian Counseling for anyone, adult or child, wrestling with body dysphoria and unwanted same-sex desires.

Liberty Counsel has already fought and won similar battles in court. In our landmark case Otto et al. v. City of Boca Raton, FL et al., the Court struck down local bans on Christian counseling for gender and sexually confused kids. The ruling in this case only protects children in three states. We have more legal battles to come.
