Never in America’s 248-year history has a government been as weaponized against its own citizens as it has been under the Biden administration. On multiple fronts, Biden has spent the last three years persecuting and prosecuting political enemies. The most recent example of this rogue administration’s weaponization is sending Steve Bannon to prison. Liberty Counsel is battling back on nearly every front. Read on. — Mat

It is outrageous that former Trump adviser Steve Bannon will be locked up in prison beginning July 1. Bannon was found in contempt of Congress and sentenced on October 21, 2021, after objecting to a congressional subpoena to testify before Nancy Pelosi’s rigged January 6 committee.
Bannon will spend four months in prison, if he can survive it, without the opportunity for early release. According to CNN, Bannon won’t likely be sent to a “country club,” but instead to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, or to Rikers Island in New York.
In case you’re not familiar, Rikers Island is among the largest prisons in the world. It is also reportedly one of the most violent. With its capacity for 10,000 inmates, Rikers houses the most violent murderers, rapists, and other criminals. For decades, the prison has been plagued with claims of violence, physical and mental abuse, and neglect. The prison is so bad that the New York City Council has voted to shut it down no later than 2027.
But that will be too late for Steve Bannon.
Bannon is the second Trump adviser to be sent to prison for refusing to obey Pelosi’s Jan. 6 subpoenas. Economist and Trump’s Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro was also found in contempt of Congress for refusing Pelosi’s subpoenas. He too was sentenced to four months and began serving his term on March 19.
Bannon and Navarro are the first two people in 76 years to be sent to prison for “contempt of Congress” and refusing to obey a congressional subpoena.
In fact, no one found in contempt of Congress has been sent to prison since the McCarthy era when 10 Hollywood screenwriters refused to obey congressional subpoenas that sought to compel them to name supposed “communist sympathizers” within the film industry.
Meanwhile, while Joe Biden was vice president, several Obama/Biden cabinet members were found in contempt of Congress — but not one of them spent even a minute in jail.
On June 28, 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder was found in contempt of Congress for refusing to testify about his role in illegally supplying Mexican cartels with assault rifles.
On March 11, 2014, Lois Lerner, IRS director of the Exempt Organizations Unit, was found in contempt of Congress by the House for refusing to testify about her role in using the IRS against Obama/Biden political enemies in the Tea Party and 9/12 Movement.
On March 17, 2016, the editors and reporters from Backpage.com were found in contempt for ignoring a congressional subpoena demanding they turn over documents on human trafficking.
On July 17, 2019, AG Bill Barr and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross were found in contempt by the House for refusing to comply with subpoenas issued by the Committee on Oversight and Reform.
On June 12, 2024, AG Merrick Garland was found in contempt by the House for refusing to produce documents related to Biden’s handling of classified documents. The Department of Justice (DOJ) quickly refused to prosecute.
Not ONE of these people was prosecuted and put in prison for their Contempt of Congress charges.
As can be witnessed by Eric Holder and Lois Lerner’s actions, Joe Biden has a long history of using the federal government to silence political foes. Now he’s putting them in prison to teach a lesson to dissidents who might consider defying him in the future.
But Biden’s administration isn’t simply targeting former Trump advisers for attack. The DOJ is trying to silence peaceful opponents to Biden’s abortion and child LGBTQ policies.
Just this week, the Biden DOJ indicted Dr. Eithan Haim, a whistleblower who reported the Children's Hospital of Texas to Lone Star state authorities for violating Texas law against puberty blockers and mutilating surgeries on minors. The doctor who reported the violation now faces 10 years in prison! I will write more on this soon.
Yet, the Biden administration turns a blind eye to vicious attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers, choosing instead to put peaceful grandmothers who pray outside abortion clinics in prison. Liberty Counsel is defending pro-lifers, and I will update you as I can.
The Biden administration has weaponized the DOJ like no other administration in history. Liberty Counsel is fighting them on multiple fronts.
But we cannot take on this giant without your direct financial assistance. Thankfully, a generous donor has established a Challenge Grant to fund our legal work. Every donation made — including recurring monthly donations — will be DOUBLED in impact.
