The abortion cocktail is so dangerous that for 20 years, the FDA required (1) that a doctor administer the death-dealing drugs in person, (2) that the drugs not be given to women who are more than seven weeks pregnant, and (3) that an in-person physical examination occur after taking the pills to ensure that the drugs had not burst the woman’s fallopian tubes, all hemorrhaging had stopped, and the dead baby had left the mother’s womb without infection.

But the FDA waived the in-person dispensation requirements, allowing abortionists to mail the deadly drugs to women — even in pro-life states where abortion is restricted.

The out-of-state doctors gave Amber the pills when she was nine weeks pregnant. There was no follow-up visit with the prescribing doctor.

The abortion cocktail Amber took contains two drugs: mifepristone, which kills the baby, and misoprostol, which is supposed to eliminate the baby from the mother’s womb. But it doesn’t always work. What often happens instead is that the baby dies, but its tiny body (or in Amber’s case, babies’ bodies) doesn’t leave the womb.

As the dead baby’s body decays inside the mother, the mother’s womb becomes filled with bacteria and rot from the corpse within the woman. This causes massive infection and often irreversible sepsis — an infection of the blood — and death of the mother. This is how the abortion pill kills mothers and their children.

That is exactly what happened to Amber Thurman. Because Amber received the drugs from an out-of-state doctor who had never examined her in person, there was also no follow-up visit to ensure she didn’t suffer any of the death-dealing risks of the drug.

Instead, Amber suffered at home for five days and did not seek emergency medical help until she was already vomiting blood and had become riddled with sepsis. Tragically, the young woman waited too long to seek help. Five days after taking the drugs, the 28-year-old’s heart stopped, and she died of septic shock from the decay of the deceased unborn children stuck within her womb.

The FDA and the entire medical community KNOW these are the side effects of the abortion pill cocktail. At least 3,197 women DIED from these drugs in just the one year before the FDA waived the in-person dispensation rules. Among the other thousands of adverse events reported during the same period, 2/3 of women who did not die from the abortion pills’ adverse events required surgery to save their life and future fertility. And because abortionists often refuse to report to the government adverse events caused by their evil deeds, those numbers are likely far higher.

But keeping the abortion industry rolling full speed ahead in the wake of the Dobbs decision that allowed states to once again ban abortion was more important to the Biden FDA than the lives of the women, like Amber, who would undeniably be lost to the drugs’ well-known, well-documented propensity to kill mothers along with their unborn children.

Amber Thurman’s death was a tragedy. She left behind a 6-year-old son — named Messiah — along with a boyfriend, parents, and family who loved her dearly. But her death was not the result of pro-life abortion bans.

Amber Thurman died because an out-of-state doctor she had never met gave her a deadly drug that the doctor KNEW could end Amber’s life along with her unborn twins.

“This young mother was killed by a 9-week chemical abortion that Georgia banned in 2019 because it is dangerous for women and deadly for their children,” said Georgia state Senator Ed Setzler.
