Since the founding of Liberty Counsel in 1989, we have been dedicated to protecting our vulnerable children, whether in the womb or already born.

Since 2015, we have tirelessly defended Sandra Merritt against the vicious legal attacks by Planned Parenthood and its government allies. This courageous grandmother exposed the abortion giant’s horrific trade in selling aborted baby body parts. The undercover videos exposed Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the prices of baby body parts and discussing how to alter abortion methods to obtain better body parts for sale, including live, beating hearts. Yet, those who push this radical death agenda have thrown their corrupt power at Sandra with lawsuits that seek millions of dollars and could put her behind bars for more than a decade.

Liberty Counsel played a significant role in defeating the extreme abortion amendment in Florida, making the Sunshine State the first state in the nation to defeat an abortion ballot initiative. This is a dramatic defeat considering Planned Parenthood and other abortion proponents poured more than 137 million dollars into the campaign to pass Amendment 4. We mobilized pastors and churches and worked tirelessly for this victory! As a result, Florida will remain one of the most pro-life states in the nation!

However, there is still much work to do to educate people about the horrors of abortion.

We also filed an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case centered around the FDA’s sweeping deregulation of mifepristone in 2016 and 2021, allowing near-unfettered access to the abortion pill. The High Court did not rule on the merits. The door remains open for another challenge to the FDA rule that allows abortion drugs to be prescribed by telemed and sent through the mail!

We won our lawsuit on behalf of a pro-life advocate who peacefully assembled on a public sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood facility located between a charter school elementary and middle school building in Washington, D.C.

We just filed a brief in Georgia defending that state’s pro-life laws.

There is also a radical agenda pushing puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and medical mutilation to remove healthy body parts from children experiencing gender confusion.

As many as 300 new pediatric gender clinics have now opened in the United States since the first one opened in 2007. The “gender surgery industry” in the U.S. was valued at 1.9 billion dollars in 2021 and is expected to grow to 5 billion by 2030. Despite “the minimum age of 18 as eligibility” to undergo these procedures, these facilities encourage parents to “medically mutilate” their children as early as 8 years old.

This horrible assault on our children is why we represent licensed counselors who provide life-saving counseling to minors who desperately desire to conform their attractions, behaviors, and gender identities to their sincerely held religious beliefs.

In fact, we WON free speech victories that struck down a city and county ordinance in Florida that banned counselors from providing minor clients with help to reduce or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion. As a result, now counselors in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama are free to help their minor clients!

We are currently preparing additional cases on behalf of counselors in several other states.

We recently filed a brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to review a case involving a Colorado law that violates the free speech of licensed counselors who help clients deal with unwanted gender confusion or same-sex attractions. This case could resolve the harmful impact counseling bans are having on the First Amendment rights of licensed counselors and the mental health of minors throughout the nation.

Our children are priceless. As a result, we resolve to meet the escalating challenges in the nation’s courtrooms and in the legislative chambers to protect them.
