Change counseling is banned in 87 cities and states across the nation, including in California, where a young man’s life just ended at the heartbreakingly young age of 23.

Change counseling could have saved Jordan’s life, but it is banned in his home state of California. The only treatment plan doctors gave Jordan was to have mutilating surgeries. But the surgery and all subsequent surgeries went terribly, terribly wrong. And the doctors who had promised Jordan “freedom” via a surgical knife refused to help the young man when he tried to get off the transgender train.

Now this young man is dead. But he left a series of dire warnings posted to social media before he went to the grave.

Jordan was raised in a family of women. His father was not in the picture, and though his mother remarried briefly, it was an abusive relationship that did not last long. He was raised by his mother, aunt, and sisters.

By 5 years old, Jordan was diagnosed with anger and anxiety. By age 10, the diagnosis grew to include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism.

Children on the autism spectrum, with Asperger’s in particular, have great difficulty understanding social cues and relating to the world around them. In their loneliness, they often become overly fixated on specific topics and adopt extreme lifestyle changes in order to fit in with any group they feel will accept them.

In a sane world, the medical community should have focused on treating Jordan’s mental health issues. But Jordan lived in California, a state all too eager to promote the “transgender” craze.

Over the years, Jordan rotated through a number of personalities and even began using different last names. After spending time in online LGBTQ forums, Jordan decided he was a “gay” man. A few years later, Jordan decided he wasn't a man after all, but rather had a “female brain,” a now thoroughly discredited idea promoted by the gender-bending industry that promulgated the vicious lie that one could be born in the wrong body. Neurological science has completely debunked that theory — yet the LGBTQ mafia continues to push this scientific falsehood anyway.

Jordan would go on to adopt other personalities, including a girl named “Emily.” Later, Jordan would take a trip to Israel, after which he decided to identify as a Jewish man named “Yarden.”

Despite the obvious signs of an identity disorder, Jordan’s doctors decided he would find happiness through a surgical intervention. Medi-Cal, California’s Medicaid program, decided that Jordan’s surgeries were “medically necessary.” But change counseling — a far less invasive practice designed to heal gender dysphoria like Jordan’s — was banned.

Jordan followed his doctors and the State of California’s recommendations and embarked on his “gender affirming” journey. It was four years of sickness and emotional hell.

Surgery after surgery was performed, including plastic surgery to make his face look more feminine, breast implants, and a “vaginoplasty,” wherein the male genitals are surgically removed and female genitals are “created.”

The doctors never told Jordan that vaginoplasties have up to a 70% complication rate. And Jordan’s surgery became yet another tragic statistic. One corrective surgery led to another, then another, and another.

“I wish I never listened to the medical and psychiatric community when they told me it was possible to change my sex. What a lie,” wrote Jordan on one online forum. “Very dangerous and unethical. Sex reassignment surgery is a hit and miss type of surgery, but they don't tell you that. They never do. And maybe if I didn't have autism, maybe if my brain wasn't so defective, I would have caught on before it was too late...It's endless suffering on top of even more suffering.”

The new, fake “female genitals” the doctors had grafted to Jordan’s body quickly became necrotic — the tissue rotting on his body. Eventually, part of Jordan’s colon needed to be removed to try to fix the earlier damage. But that surgery also went wrong.

"I have a gaping hole in my genital area with my colon spilling out (disgusting) and a ring of scar tissue blocking most of the entrance,” Jordan wrote. “If the colon can't discharge, that leaves it with severe blockage, which then could turn (and likely expected) into blood clots, followed by death. I've already reached the stage of blockage.”

Jordan tried to reverse the damage, deciding to “detransition” back to the young man God had created him to be. But the same doctors who were all too happy to perform experimental surgeries in a failed attempt to turn this young man into a girl refused to help. Instead, these doctors who refused to affirm Jordan’s biological reality insisted Jordan simply needed more counseling to affirm his false female identity.

“What hurts me the most,” wrote Jordan in another online post, “is the loneliness and the inability to find a partner. I can't have a normal sex life. I'm a loser and I probably deserve this deception. This is what I get for messing with nature.”

“I just wanted friendship and love,” Jordan wrote. “I was a confused kid with no identity. I wish I could have done everything different, but it's too late now. I'm royally screwed.”

Jodan died alone in his apartment at age 23. His medical complications from repeated sex-change surgery attempts were so severe that neither doctors nor his own mother are sure whether Jordan succumbed to his injuries or died by suicide. But given the misery Jordan expressed online and his fury over the medical experiments that left his body mutilated, riddled with infection and constant pain, Jordan’s mother suspects the young man took his own life.

Studies show that young people on the autism spectrum, like Jordan, are up to six times more likely to suffer from gender dysphoria. But instead of ensuring that these kids get the least invasive treatment possible, like change counseling, California, Colorado, and 87 other states and cities have banned this lifesaving talk therapy.

As Jordan’s tragic story shows, these bans are deadly.

Liberty Counsel has managed to overturn 23 change counseling bans nationwide, including two wins in the Courts of Appeals. But the gender benders making big bucks trying (and failing) to turn little boys into girls and little girls into boys is fighting us all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
