David says he was a typical kid, but se*ual abuse at a young age, followed by bullying and a “defensive detachment” from his father, led to “gender identity inferiority” and a soul-searing battle with unnatural desires.
But cities and states across the nation have bowed to the LGBTQ cult, banning voluntary Christian counseling that seeks to alleviate gender confusion and unwanted attractions. Liberty Counsel has knocked down 23 of those bans, but more than 87 remain on the books.
This fall, the U.S. Supreme Court will take up the issue in Chiles v. Salazar. Liberty Counsel has already filed one brief and is preparing to file another, but we need your immediate financial help. A special Challenge Grant will DOUBLE the impact of every gift made to our legal fund today.
David had been abused and violated beginning at the age of 5. A sensitive boy, he turned inward and sought the comfort of his mother and sisters.
Boys in the schoolyard began to bully young David mercilessly for being different, furthering the disconnect between David’s boyhood and how he perceived men.
By his 20s, David was experimenting with other men. But after three years, his heart was gripped with shame. His soul was racked with the feeling that this unnatural identity was a “fake self” and that “I just really wasn't who I was destined to be.”
David sought Christian change counseling, sometimes called change counsel or talk therapy, from a licensed provider. Thankfully, this lifesaving counsel was not yet banned in his state. The counseling brought David hope and healing.
Christian change counseling brought “resolution of my gender identity inferiority,” says David, and “raised my level of self-esteem particularly as a man in my own body.”
The depression and anxiety that had crippled David throughout his young life began to lessen and dissipate.
“I began also to get a lot of the male emotional needs that I never had hardly one bit of growing up,” says David, “and as a result of all that my same-sex attractions automatically, spontaneously began to, through this therapy, lessen and dissipate.”
According to David, counseling “helped save my life.”
But more than 100 cities and states have banned this lifesaving therapy to acquiesce to the demands of the LGBTQ cult.
Liberty Counsel has managed to overturn 23 of these bans, freeing the people of Florida, Alabama, and Georgia to seek and receive the Christian counseling of their choice. Our wins in the lower courts created a conflict, resulting in the U.S. Supreme Court now taking up this issue.
This fall, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Chiles v. Salazar. This case has the potential to overturn ALL Christian change counseling bans from coast to coast — whether the LGBTQ cult likes it or not.
As I said above, Liberty Counsel is already preparing briefs.
In 36 years, we’ve won 37 cases we have argued or briefed before the U.S. Supreme Court. We are praying this case becomes our next big win.
But we cannot do this lifesaving work without your direct financial support. A special Challenge Grant has been established to double the impact of every gift made to our legal fund — even recurring monthly gifts!
Please be in prayer for the legions of children and adults deceived by the LGBTQ cult, that they may find peace and joy in God’s design for their lives.
