Yesterday, I wrote to you about the LGBTQ’s attempts to capture the minds and hearts of our youth by turning a children’s public park playground into an open-air strip show.
Today, I am happy to tell you about an organization doing incredibly important work to counter the deviant “pride” movement.
But one California city is trying to BAN this important after-school ministry.
The city of Oakland, California, is trying to prevent children from attending after-school Good News Clubs, simply because they do not want schoolchildren to learn about Jesus.
Liberty Counsel is suing the city.
The ages of 4 years to 14 years are the most crucial developmental period in a child’s life. Statistics show that nearly 85% of people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior make that first commitment before the ages of 12-14. Nearly 70% of people who are called to the mission field also feel the initial call between the ages of 4 and 14. This “4-14 window” represents the critical formative years in young lives.
Child Evangelism Fellowship’s (CEF) Good News Clubs exist to ensure that critical window is filled with the good news of Christ, instead of with the deceptions of the secular world.
And because CEF is so effective, many cities and states are trying to shut down this “Good News” ministry.
Independent research performed by George Barna reveals that a person’s moral foundations are generally in place by age 9, albeit with some adjustments; these values are formed early. Barna also found that a person’s response to the meaning and personal value of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection is usually determined by age 18, and often earlier, by age 12.
Barna’s research gives modern scientific proof to the biblical passage, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Even the secular philosopher Aristotle agreed, saying, “Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man.”
And those pushing the LGBTQ agenda know the importance of reaching children. In her article “Future Shock” in The Advocate magazine, Patricia Warren writes, "Whoever captures the kids owns the future.”
Perhaps that is why the city of Oakland, California, is fighting so hard to keep CEF Good News after-school clubs out of their city.
CEF has the largest Christian ministry in the world, operating with full-time, on-site staff in nearly every country in the world. In the past year alone, CEF has trained more than 570,000 people in face-to-face child evangelism. As a result, 48 children per minute worldwide, amounting to 25 million children every year, hear the gospel in a face-to-face meeting, thanks to CEF.
The 4-to-14 window is the critical period for establishing a child’s personality and future behavior ... and the enemy knows it.
The Oakland County school district of California allows many secular
programs to meet in its school facilities, including the “The Rainbow Club,” an after-school group that the Oakland United School District calls “LGBTQ Programming.”
These clubs promote deviant sexual behaviors and the irrational, unscientific idea that one can be “born in the wrong body.”
The school district’s choice of the words “LGBTQ programming” is telling. Unable to reproduce, LGBTQ members must recruit new members to their cult by “programming” innocent young minds.
CEF serves as a counter to this cult programming, providing wholesome, uplifting biblical truths that help children grow into happy, well-adjusted godly young men and women.
Liberty Counsel represents CEF nationally and has done so for 25 years. We have never lost a case involving Good News Clubs, and we are not about to start losing now. But we need your help.
The enemy is fighting to capture the hearts and minds of our children like never before. Children as young as preschool age are being taught that deviant behavior, hormones, and mutilating surgeries are normal. Drag queens are trying to turn family public parks into open-air strip clubs performing highly sexualized “dance” routines for children. And California public schools are brazenly advertising that they are “programming” children for the LGBTQ ideology.
I have an urgency to rescue these children and share the good news with them that Jesus loves them. Help us bring hope to these precious children.
Liberty Counsel is fighting to protect our children and our right to religious freedom. We need your help as never before.
