Thought the COVID tyrannies were over? I wish that was true, but the discrimination continues.

Bureaucrats and minor politicians are trying to take revenge on the clients we successfully defended during the COVID shutdowns!

Liberty Counsel spent the COVID years defending churchgoers, pastors, churches, health care workers, military members, and others from an onslaught of bureaucrats and politicians who tried to rob Americans of their right to religious freedom.

In case after case we won, reversing church closures (twice at the U.S. Supreme Court), fighting to clear the names of those arrested for opening their church and for military members who refused to relinquish their religious freedom, and defending our health care heroes from Joe Biden’s mandated shot.

But the anti-God establishment is now seeking revenge against many of the very same people we successfully defended.

In 2018, a left leaning New England city set its sights on closing a local home-based church*. The bureaucrats of the city didn’t believe people should be allowed to host church or small group church gatherings in their own homes. 

Liberty Counsel took up the case and won, allowing the church to continue to meet and grow.

In 2020, the same city tried once again to target this small home church which had grown to 30-40 members. This time a self-identified “gay” state legislature member championed the effort, seeking to shut down this home-based church by painting it as a disease “super spreader.” That politician had no problem with the many big box stores, liquor stores, abortion clinics, and other retail establishments that remained open. He just wanted this specific, gospel preaching church shut down.

Don’t let LGBTQ politicians attack any more churches!

During the politician’s COVID era attempt to shut down the church, the politician traded ideas with other anti-church people on how to use government agencies to close the church.

Liberty Counsel intervened, and the second attack on this small New England church was thwarted again.

But the anti-church folks weren’t done attacking this church. They picked up the tactics recommended in the COVID social media proposals and began using additional government agencies to continue harassing the church. This time, they tried OSHA (the Occupational Health and Safety Administration) on the small home church for erecting a permitted storage shed — intended to house disaster relief supplies — on the property.

This is exactly the type of “weaponization of government agencies” that President Trump has been talking about. This abuse is rampant throughout all levels of government.

Liberty Counsel intervened once again in defense of this church, and once again we won.

This isn't the first, nor will it likely be the last time the anti-church folks try to take revenge on our clients. Just up the coast from this client, the State of Maine and ME Governor Janet Mills have repeatedly targeted Calvary Chapel since we freed the church and its attendees from Mills’s threats to imprison Calvary Chapel’s pastor and the members for attending church.

Just like the politician trying to shut down this New England church, in many cases, the complaints against our clients were brought by LGBTQ adherents who despise the fact that churches still preach the gospel about God’s plans for man, woman, the natural family, and human sexuality.

In case after case, the charges against the churches are a mere pretext for shutting down the gospel that refutes the LGBTQ agenda.

Many of the military personnel we successfully defended during Joe Biden’s unlawful shot mandates are being targeted for revenge as well. I will tell you more about the ongoing military abuse in another email.

Rarely do 30-member churches or single individuals have the means to defend themselves against anti-Christian tyranny. Without organizations like ours, these people would have no defense against the powerful bureaucrats and politicians who wish to see churches shuttered and the gospel silenced. Without Liberty Counsel, those who hate religion and God would steadily eradicate the gospel, even in our homes.
