Trans Wants to Turn LU Into LGBTQ-U

May 30, 2025

Liberty Counsel isn’t just creating legal precedent that will impact America for generations. We are also training up a new generation of Christian attorneys and leaders to defend religious freedom, life, and family — even as we fight for Christian organizations, like Liberty University, to keep educating Champions for Christ.

Every year, Liberty Counsel invites a select number of law school students from Liberty University and other schools to intern in our Florida, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., offices. This year’s class is nothing short of spectacular.

But none of these law students would likely have attended Liberty University if the ACLU and Jonathan Zinski got their way.

The ACLU and Zinski are trying to force LU into becoming LGBTQ-U.

Raise up a new generation of Christian legal warriors AND defend Christian education with your gift today!

The young legal warriors below will work on cases that are before or soon will be at the U.S. Supreme Court. We are training the best of the best.

Matthew started his collegiate career playing football for the University of Miami before answering a call to enter Liberty University. Matthew is interning in our Washington, D.C., office.

“In pursuing the practice of law, I have an incredible opportunity to stand for Christ and His Truth,” Matthew says. “The government has the authority and a duty to act justly and to promote good and punish wickedness. In recent years, we have seen both the power of the law and how destructive that power can be if wielded improperly. I hope to practice law in a way that comports with justice, honor, and following Christ above all else.”

Trenton graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University before attending Liberty Law. He is at our Florida office. Trenton wrote:

“I believe that the concept of authoritative law has no objective foundation apart from Christ. Unfortunately, most law schools fail to recognize this truth, leaving their understanding of law hollow and disconnected from its true source. Upon realizing the depths of this error within the legal field, I felt compelled to enter it — not to simply practice law, but to take the legal thinking of our nation captive to Christ in any way I can."

Holt graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University before entering LU Law. “In whatever I do, my goal is to glorify God with the gifts and abilities He has given me. I believe He has called me into the legal profession to advocate for the religious liberty of every American,” Holt says.

Alexandra knew what she wanted to do with her life the moment she saw the movie God’s Not Dead 2. In the scene where two attorneys fight for a Christian educator, Alexandra knew she wanted to learn to defend God from a theological and legal standpoint. Alexandra graduated from LU with a pre-law degree and a double minor in Apologetics and Christian Ministry before joining LU School of Law and is interning in our Virginia office.

Hannah was 6 years old when she gave her life to Christ at an AWANA meeting. A star softball player, Hannah says her legal studies were fueled by the fact that biological men were stealing team memberships, titles, and scholarships from female athletes. After graduating from LU with a degree in Criminal Justice and History, Hannah entered LU School of Law with a passion to protect the vulnerable in our society, especially children, and the family structure, which is the bedrock of any healthy society. Hanna is interning in our Virginia office.

Aaron graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University, where he served a worship leader for the Belmont Baptist Collegiate Ministry before entering LU School of Law. “My heart’s desire is to bring His Kingdom into the courtroom,” Aaron says. “Simple as that.” Aaron is interning in our Virginia office.

But the Christian university educating these warriors is under fire.

Jonathan Zinski believes Liberty University and all other Christian schools should be forced to employ trans and drag queens.

Each and every one of the LU interns named above chose to become attorneys because they love the Lord and seek to defend His Word and America’s precious religious freedom.

Would any of these students have attended a university manned by drag queens and transvestites? Certainly not. These students chose Liberty because it teaches and defends the Word of God.

And that sheds light on the true aim of the ACLU and Zinski’s lawsuit. They want to force Christian schools to abandon the Word of God. They want Christian ideals and principles replaced with LGBTQ ideals.

Don’t let the ACLU turn LU into LGBTQ-U! Fund the fight today!

If they win against Liberty University, they will apply this standard against ALL Christian schools and universities — and no one will be left to raise the next generation of Christian theologians, lawyers, and professionals.

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals just accepted this case, in which we argue that the First Amendment, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), and Title VII protect Liberty University and all other Christian education institutions from the LGBTQ’s attacks.

This case will likely wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court and create legal precedent that will last for generations.
