Christians pelted with human waste after mayor pitted antifa and LGBTQ activists against them
Liberty Counsel is suing city officials.
Christian organizations and churches wanted to hold a praise and worship service at a local Seattle park. But City officials engineered a chaotic scene enabling antifa and radical LGBTQ activists to violently attack the peaceful Christians. They thought Christians could be treated like sheep. They’re wrong.
Worshippers were pelted with urine-filled water balloons. A 17-year-old kid had a knife pulled on him as he prayed. Children and the elderly were sexually accosted. Christians were attacked and beaten by masked antifa members and drag queens — all because Seattle city officials purposefully decided to set up these church members for disaster, then blamed the Christians for the violent antifa and LGBTQ attacks!
Liberty Counsel filed suit against Seattle city officials this week.

In May of this year, Christian organizations and churches planned to hold a series of nationwide public worship services, including one in Seattle on May 24. Called “Mayday,” the events were intended to praise the Lord, and sound an alarm for Christians to pray for our country.
Seattle city officials refused to grant a permit for the park the Christians had chosen. Instead, they ordered them to hold their event at a park in a well-known LGBTQ neighborhood. The churches had no choice — either hold their event in the heart of the LGBTQ area or don’t receive a permit. City officials knowingly set up the Christians for disaster.
The worshippers arrived at their permitted event on May 24, but what was intended for prayer and praise quickly turned into chaos and violence.
The LGBTQ and antifa rioters arrived at the park dressed in black and wearing face masks to hide their identities. They soon began assaulting the Christians. The entire melee was caught on video, giving evidence of exactly who enacted the violence.
Twenty-three LGBTQ and antifa protesters were arrested, but Seattle’s Democrat mayor, Bruce Harrell, blamed the Christians! Mayor Harrell labeled the Christians as “far right extremists,” while not mentioning a word about the crazed leftists who caused the violence — or the fact that the City forced the Christians to hold their event in a neighborhood where they would almost certainly be attacked.

Mayday was inspired by a 2016 grassroots movement in Peru called #ConMisHijosNoTeMetas, which translates to #DontMessWithMyChildren. The movement began after the country’s prime minister and education minister began implementing a George Soros-funded venture intended to force the “trans” agenda and abortion on the people.
The people rose up, using the Word of God to protect life and their kids.
Millions of Peruvian parents flooded the streets of the South American country, not with violence but by holding worship and prayer services, standing on the Word of God to protect their children.
One of the leaders of the movement just happens to be a former Liberty University student, Christian Rosas, whose father is a respected pastor and former Peruvian government official and my friend. I got to know Christian and his family when I served as dean of the law school. I even got to address the Peruvian government and the entire nation on abortion, marriage, and religious freedom at the invitation of Christian’s father back in 2013.
The revival efforts of the Peruvian Christians worked. The government ministers were overthrown. George Soros was defeated. As a result, the “trans” agenda is now officially classified as a mental illness in Peru, and life is defined as beginning at conception.
Though the Peruvian Christians and the Rosas family were not involved in the American Mayday, the campaign nevertheless took its cues from Peru’s #DontMessWithMyChildren demonstrations.
Seattle created a situation that set up the Mayday Christians to be victims of violence, then blamed the Christians. Such actions, especially ones that involve violence, tend to have a chilling effect designed to silence.
Thankfully, Liberty Counsel has fought and won scores of cases of this nature, and we will not stop until every attempt to rob Christians of their freedom is eradicated.
But this legal work protecting religious freedom is expensive, and we need your direct financial support to fight and win these cases. We never charge our clients because we know that few people, let alone humble churches, have the financial resources to battle major cities’ well-funded budgets.
Instead, our clients rely on YOU, the faithful Liberty Counsel supporter, to ensure that religious liberty remains FREE.
