NY Gov. Hochul threatened to shut down any business that accommodated people of faith 

Businesses have been threatened that they will lose their license

Gov. Hochul’s actions should be no surprise considering she locked people in their houses and even sent state police to track the movements of anyone who dared escape her lockdown state during COVID. Then, she threatened to close any hospital or health care business that accommodated the religious beliefs of even one Christian or person of faith.

Hochul ordered New York health care workers to get the untested experimental COVID shots. Hospitals and health care employers that provided any accommodation to any person based on religion would face daily fines and their business license would be revoked.

Five years after the lockdowns, Hochul continues to insist she can insult those who believe in God and ignore the Constitution.

Hochul, who apparently believes the U.S. Constitution does not apply to her, even tried to refuse to respond to our petition to the U.S. Supreme Court. The High Court had to ORDER Hochul to respond!

The High Court will review our case in its “super conference” that begins September 29. At that time, the Justices will review the case and decide if they will hear the case this session. Pray that Gov. Hochul will be held accountable to the Constitution.

Gov. Hochul’s COVID-19 shot mandate required ALL New York health care employers to force their employees to get the experimental jab. Hochul allowed shot exemptions for medical reasons, but she ordered employers to not consider ANY requests for religious accommodation.

Any employee who requested their federal Title VII religious freedom rights was ordered to be fired. Any employer who honored an employee’s religious convictions would face daily fines AND lose their business and professional license, putting them out of business, with no recourse — until Liberty Counsel stepped in.

One of our clients, a Christian Scientist named Marty*, had a religious vaccine exemption for 10 years leading up to COVID. That exemption was canceled.

Another, John*, runs a 15-bed, faith-based senior living center in New York. For 50 years, the center’s employees have lived out their faith by serving elderly patients in their twilight years. Faith is the entire reason both patients and employees chose to live or work in John’s facility.

But Gov. Hochul demanded Marty, John, and a host of other employees violate their faith or lose their jobs and business licenses. NY Gov. Kathy Hochul refuses to obey clear federal law.

If we do not win this case, Hochul can and will return to her abuse against people of faith, because she continues to irrationally insist that she has more power than the Constitution and the federal government combined!

Don’t let Gov. Hochul bring back shot mandates!

Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act protects the right of employees to their religious beliefs. But Hochul acts like she is above the law.

But the law and court rulings are on our side.

The U.S. Constitution and federal law are crystal clear: States can give citizens more rights than federal law offers, but states cannot take away rights the Constitution or federal law provide.

The Second, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal have all ruled that state laws must yield to federal laws regarding discrimination requirements. But Gov. Hochul doesn’t care. Not only does she continue to insist she had the right to rob New Yorkers of their religious freedom, but she also ordered employers to violate Title VII laws.

In other words, Hochul robbed people of their religious freedom protected under federal law, and she will do it again if the High Court does not stop her. Gov. Janet Mills in Maine mirrored Hochul’s unlawful dictate.

We cannot allow Hochul’s rogue lawlessness to continue.

If Hochul’s lawlessness is not reined in, other states will follow her example to discriminate against Christians and people of faith. Just look at Mayor Abdullah Hammoud of Dearborn, MI, who told a Christian minister, “You’re not welcome here!”

Gov. Hochul’s recent endorsement of the radically socialist NYC mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani, adds a chilling twist to the situation, further revealing Hochul’s disdain for everything our Constitution stands for.
