Forced to Prove Innocence to Access Own Money

The Central Bank of Thailand (BoT), owned and operated by the Thai royal government, froze three million bank accounts on September 15. Citizens were forced to prove they were good and innocent people in order to access their own money, and even then, they were only allowed to access a fraction of their funds.

The not-so-distant COVID lockdowns prove that America is not immune from tyrannical politicians seeking to control people. If a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) were in place during COVID, churches, businesses, and those who resisted the regime would have had their bank accounts frozen.

In fact, one church was threatened to have its utilities suspended. In Canada, truckers and those who supported their COVID protests had their bank accounts frozen.

We must not give our government the power to control Americans by controlling our money.

Tell Congress: BAN CBDCs!

The Thai government claims the bank freezes were implemented to stop scammers. But millions of the frozen bank accounts belong to innocent Thai citizens and foreign nationals living in the country legally.

“Thank God for Bitcoin,” said Jimmy Kostro from the Thailand Bitcoin Learning Center. Thai residents who do not have Bitcoin or cash in hand had to prove they were not scammers, then wait weeks to access their own money.

But even when cleared by the government, citizens who were allowed to access their own money were only allowed to access the Thai equivalent of 1,500 dollars.

The Thai government’s move is an alarming example of the lengths bad government actors will go to control other people’s money.

The news comes just as Congress is once again debating banning Central CBDCs.

Democrats have been pushing CBDCs since the Biden administration, because they see this as a powerful way to control behavior.

CBDCs are programmable digital dollars issued, monitored, and completely controlled by the government, and are intended to replace cash and make the government your one and only “Central Bank.” No more private banking. The government will control every financial transaction.

“CBDCs would give the government the ability to monitor everything you are doing everywhere,” Kevin Freeman says, a specialist in economic warfare. “And if they don’t like the way you are living your life, they will have a reward and punishment mechanism by turning your money on or off, allowing you to buy or not buy, and determining what you can buy, where you can buy, how you can buy.”

Midterm elections are just around the corner. If Democrats manage to take back Congress, we will have a massive fight on our hands to prevent them from forcing a CBDC on all Americans.

We must permanently BAN CBDCs NOW while Republicans still control Congress.
