I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. — Psalm 139:14
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this season, it is a reminder that the Creator of the universe came to us first as an unborn child. And just as we can never deny that Jesus in human form was created in God’s image, the same is true for each of us.
From the founding of Liberty Counsel in 1989, we have fought to protect human life, from the moment of conception until natural death. Yet today, one of the fiercest battles we are engaged in is about biological truth.
Teachers, students, parents, and employees are confronted with the radical gender ideology on children. Females are forced to have males in their locker rooms and competing in their sports.
In fact, here are some of our recent battles in this arena:We are defending Liberty University, which the ACLU has sued. Jonathan Zinski intentionally violated the university’s doctrinal statement and policies. As soon as his 90-day probation period expired, he revealed he had begun taking female hormones four months before he was hired, and that he planned to “identify” as female.
We filed a lawsuit against the University of Arizona on behalf of former ethics Professor Daniel Grossenbach, who was fired after he publicly advocated for parental rights at local school board meetings where his children attend school. The public school policies promoted teachers who secretly surveyed children about their gender and sexuality.
We sent a demand letter to the East Baton Rouge Parish Library on behalf of bivocational Pastor Luke Ash who was unlawfully fired from his job as a library services technician for refusing to use false pronouns for a female colleague.
We filed two amicus briefs at the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a licensed mental health counselor who challenged Colorado’s counseling ban. The ban violates the free speech of licensed counselors who help minors deal with unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion.
We sent demand letters on behalf of Kayleigh Bush, the Miss North Florida 2025 pageant winner who refused to sign a Miss America contract that falsely defines “female” to include gender-confused males. Kayleigh was crowned in September 2024 and was denied the benefits of the title because she would not violate her religious beliefs.
We sent a demand letter to the Clackamas County Health, Housing, and Human Services Department on behalf of a licensed social worker facing unlawful retaliation for not following the county’s pronoun policy due to his religious beliefs. Clackamas County, Oregon, requires all clinical staff to “use” a child’s “preferred pronouns.”
