His Story Explains Why We Fight

Cross-sex hormones gave him a brain tumor

Church & Christian counseling gave him new life

In 2024, Miles Yardley, once known in the world of high fashion simply as Salome’, discovered the cross-sex hormones he’d been on since age 15 had given him a brain tumor.

But when Salome’ wanted to go back to being Miles, no doctors would help him. In fact, in New York, where he built his career, and in California, where he lives now, therapists are unlawfully banned from using Christian counseling to help patients like Miles. Even when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled such bans unconstitutional, these states are choosing to defy the High Court!

Liberty Counsel is suing to overturn the more than 80 Christian counseling bans across the country — so that patients like Miles can get the help they desperately want. A special Challenge Grant will double every gift made to our legal fund today.

Stop Christian Change Counseling Bans! DOUBLE YOUR GIFT!

By all accounts, Miles Yardley was a “late bloomer.” By age 15, he wasn’t interested in girls or boys. Yet because he was interested in music and dance, kids began accusing him of being gay or “transgendered.”

“I had not questioned my own identity before other people started asking me questions and putting that on me,” Miles says.

He had questions. His mother took him to the doctor. And after just two short visits, the doctor convinced his reluctant mother to put him on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.

But no one ever told Miles, or his mother, about the incredible risks behind those drugs.

By 2024, Miles had developed a brain tumor, which has long been linked to cross-sex hormones. A 2018 Dutch study published in BRAIN: A Journal of Neurology reports:

Cross-sex hormone treatment is associated with a higher risk of meningiomas [brain tumors] and prolactinomas [benign tumor of the pituitary gland] in transwomen ... and somatotrophinomas [pituitary tumors] in transmen.

The scales began to fall from his eyes...

“I realized that I’m hurting myself. I’m poisoning myself. I’m sterilizing myself,” Miles says. “The normal things that bring meaning to normal people’s lives I’m shut off from because I can’t have children in this state. I can’t do the normal things that bring normal people meaning.”

Miles also realized the hormones had negatively impacted his mental health. “I was really crazy on the hormones,” he says. “I was mentally unstable and cognitively impaired. And generally fatigued, tired, not strong at all in ways that I’m only now coming to really understand.”

He decided to DE-transition, and reembrace the man God made him to be. But it hasn’t been an easy road

Doctors didn’t know what to do with him, or perhaps didn’t want anything to do with him, because helping him return to his God-given state would be an admission that their “gender-affirming care” model is wrong.

Just as disheartening, Christian change counseling remains banned in Miles’ state of California despite the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that prohibits cities and states from banning this lifesaving practice. And more than 80 other cities and states also have refused to drop their bans.

As a result, Liberty Counsel is now suing cities and states that refuse to overturn those bans, so that people like Miles can get the help they need — preferably before their so-called “gender-affirming care” kills them.

Praise God, Miles found healing. The once high-fashion “women’s” model returned to his childhood church and has been undergoing Christian change counseling.

“Gay and trans are the same thing,” Miles says. “Both result from an original trauma to your gender that can be healed.”

He hopes to one day marry a “nice Catholic girl,” have a family, and lead a normal life.

But he also recognizes that the puberty blockers combined with 12 years on estrogen may have permanently damaged his ability to become fully male or have children. If that is the case, says Miles, he will continue to choose celibacy.

Please pray for Miles, and the many young people like him, who need mental, physical, and spiritual healing from this monstrous social contagion known as transgenderism.

And please make a generous contribution to our legal fund so that we can tear down the walls the LGBTQ keeps erecting against God’s saving grace. Every gift to our legal fund today will be DOUBLED by a special Challenge Grant.
