SPLC squirms under congressional scrutiny 

More “hate map” victims testify before Congress, leaving SPLC representatives stumbling for answers 

Mountains of evidence are piling up, exposing the SPLC. The group, whose stated purpose is to end racism, has been caught red-handed paying racists to generate hate.

And now SPLC is under the microscope for attacking Christian organizations like ours.  While it is being scrutinized, SPLC continues to directly attack Liberty Counsel — and we need YOUR help to defeat it.

Since 2011, the SPLC has falsely labeled Liberty Counsel as a “hate group,” simply because we have been so successful at defending religious freedom, the right to life, and God’s design for the natural family.

When the SPLC’s slanderous and dishonest smear campaign failed to take us down, they devised a new tactic — using the organization’s massive endowment to fund a lawfare campaign against us. They couldn't beat us with their words, and they couldn't beat us in the courts, so they just keep filing more lawsuits to take our time and resources from Christian clients who need our help.

SPLC representative Mark Potok gleefully bragged on numerous occasions that SPLC’s goal is “to destroy” organizations on its so-called ”hate list,” including Liberty Counsel — “completely.”

It’s not too different from the other alleged SPLC tactics recently exposed: Where there is no enemy, pay people to invent one, then fundraise off the actions the SPLC created. The irony is rich.

Pro-life and anti-racism warrior Dr. Alveda King (niece of Dr. Martin Luther King) is also on the SPLC’s list. During the hearings held June 9, Dr. King aptly pointed out the group’s hypocrisy, asking SPLC interim President and CEO Bryan Fair:

So, do you pay the same people to do the bomb [sic], and then go and comfort the people from being bombed? You pay the same people to do both jobs. That's kind of fraud to me. That’s weird and chaotic and confusing.

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) further exposed the SPLCs intellectual dishonesty, stating: 

Under your criteria ... conservative Christian groups are considered hate groups. But Antifa and Jane’s Revenge that burns down Catholic churches and pregnancy resource centers, those are not hate groups. It sounds like you're really proud of that process. 

For more than a decade, the SPLC has used the legal system to harass us and steal time away from our clients by continuing to pursue a ridiculous case that the SPLC knows has zero merit. 

Despite a decade of discovery, hundreds of thousands of documents, and tens of thousands of hours proving that Liberty Counsel is innocent, the SPLC continues.  

The court has already ruled that the SPLC’s case has no merit. Yet the SPLC filed an appeal deliberately misstating the facts in order to pull the wool over the appeals court’s eyes and to continue to bleed our time and resources — all in an effort to destroy us, just as Mark Potok bragged.  

After SPLC filed its brief with the Court of Appeals, we requested the court to levy sanctions against the SPLC for its blatant lies.

Since 1989, Liberty Counsel has stood in the gap defending life, religious liberty, and the natural family free to anyone who needs our help.  

Unlike the SPLC, we use donor funds to help others, not manufacture a crisis in hopes of gleaning more cash. Because we understand that few, if any, could afford to fight the endless resources of government agencies and billion-dollar leftist endowments on their own.
