Liberty Counsel Is Willing to Defend Tennessee Bill to Adopt Bible as Official State Book

The Tennessee Senate passed a bill in a 19-8 landslide on Wednesday that would make the Holy Bible the state’s “official book.” This occurred after the bill, sponsored by Republican Senator Steve Southerland, was passed 55-38 by the state House. Republican Governor Bill Haslam has not indicated whether he will sign it.
Liberty Counsel is willing to defend this constitutional legislation pro bono if the governor should decide against doing so.
