Liberty Counsel hosted law school and college students in Washington, DC, as part of its summer internship, externship, and clinical program. Liberty Counsel trains law school and college students in its Florida, Virginia and Washington, DC, offices.

The students were present in the Supreme Court when the Justices publicly released four decisions. These students were welcomed with a private tour of the Supreme Court and a lecture by General William Suter, the Clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court. Later in the day, they toured the Capitol Building. Paul Brodersen, a Liberty University School of Law intern with Liberty Counsel, said, “To be in the United States Supreme Court where the Ten Commandments are displayed was an incredible experience, especially when all nine of the Supreme Court Justices took their seats!” Alina Jolly, also a Liberty law school intern with Liberty Counsel, said that the experience left a lasting impression on her. “You realize that they are normal people,” she said.

Four of the students are completing their externship or internship in the Washington, DC, office of the Liberty Center for Law and Policy, where they work with national political and policy leaders on policy issues and some of whom will be covering the Senate confirmation hearings of Elena Kagan for the U.S. Supreme Court. The rest are learning litigation at the Liberty Counsel offices on the campus of Liberty University and in Florida.
