Men and women from different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life will be attending the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference Justice Summit on November 18-19 at the Hilton Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.
Addressing such issues as human trafficking, poverty, sanctity of life, natural marriage, religious liberty, and immigration, those gathered will hear from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX), Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, Mat Staver, and others.
“Justice does not belong to the left or right. It is something in which every person should strive,” said Rev. Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the largest Latino organization in America with 40,118 evangelical churches. “We are bringing together individuals from all cultures and backgrounds to address issues that are of vital importance to the future of our country, as well as the influence of the Church.”
The following speakers will tackle key justice issues from a Christian worldview:
• Dr. Russell Moore, president of the Religious and Ethics Liberty Commission;
• Rev. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and CEO of The King Center;
• Dr. Yuri Mantilla, Associate Professor of Law and Director of Global Initiatives at Liberty University;
• Bishop Harry Jackson of Hope Christian Church;
• Dr. Carlos Campo, chairman of the Alliance for Hispanic Education;
• David Donaldson, cofounder of Convoy of Hope; and
• Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.
“The Justice Summit will provide a great opportunity to engage the culture and to mobilize Christians in the growing and influential Hispanic community for such a time is this,” said Mat Staver. “This is a critical moment in history in which there is a growing hostility to Christians and people who share traditional moral values. The Hispanic community has a strong pro-life and pro-marriage belief. I believe the Hispanic community can be a firewall for our values.”
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, attendees will lobby Congress and attend a Congressional Luncheon with Members of Congress.
“We are not only going to learn about important issues of justice and how the Christian community can intervene in those issues, but we are also going to be meeting with key influential players to make sure our voice is heard on these critical subjects,” said Dr. Yuri Mantilla.
