The President and his allies in Congress are masters of confusion and deception. They created a nonexistent healthcare emergency to scare the American people into submission. We feel compelled to uncover the deception.
President Obama claims there are 47 million uninsured Americans, but is that number accurate? At his July 22, 2009, news conference, Obama said that health insurance reform is "not just about the 47 million Americans who don’t have any health insurance at all."
Liberty Counsel discovered that the statistic is from a 2007 U.S. Census Bureau Report that is posted on the U.S. Census official website. But who are these people? Of the 46 million "uninsured," more than 10 million were not U.S. citizens. Over 9 million had a household income of over $75,000 and more than 8 million others earned between $50,000 and $75,000.
A May 2003 nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office report, "How Many People Lack Health Insurance and For How Long," says, "It is frequently stated that about 40 million Americans lack health insurance. That estimate, however, overstates the number...."

Still Defending Marriage in California
Tomorrow, Rena Lindevaldsen, Associate Professor of Law at Liberty University School of Law and Special Counsel for Liberty Counsel, will present oral argument in defense of California marriage laws.
Liberty Counsel represents Campaign for California Families in the case of Perry v. Schwarzenegger, which will be heard at 10:00 a.m. PST tomorrow (August 19) in a San Francisco federal court.
We will ask the court to allow us to intervene in the case to defend California law defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Two same-sex couples are asking the court to declare that the state Constitution, which states that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California," violates the United States Constitution.
Please pray for this case! Defendants in the action include Attorney General Edmund G. Brown, Jr. who has publicly stated that he believes defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman violates the United States Constitution.
Liberty Counsel's defense is needed to make sure California's marriage laws stay intact. Liberty Counsel has been involved in defending California's marriage laws since 2004 and has participated in more than 40 cases nationwide defending marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
