Liberty Counsel filed an amicus brief on behalf of the Human Heartbeat Protection Act. In part, Liberty Counsel's brief states, “Given the unequivocal proclamations of both the Supreme Court and two en banc Eighth Circuit panels, together with the evidence of the inadequacy of the existing practices of abortion clinics and the harm caused to women, it is beyond dispute that the informed consent provisions here are constitutional.
The Human Heartbeat Protection Act would protect women by requiring that abortion providers inform women of the fact that their unborn child has a heartbeat and provide them with the statistical probability of carrying the child to term.
Women have the right to be informed about life and death decisions inherent in abortion. No woman should go through any surgery, especially an elective abortion, without being informed of the potentially serious side effects. The ACLU's suit is just one in a long line of cases that want to hide the truth behind the horrors of abortion, regardless of the impact it has on the women they are intentionally deceiving while claiming to protect.
Please pray that the court upholds the Human Heartbeat Protection Act.
